DEAD Sunday, August 5, Sale, instant discounts, $100 off Lenovo coupon DEAD. Price is back up to $749.99. The $100 Visa Prepaid Card rebate on Select laptops with a valid student ID offer does not end until September 15, 2012. Another deal may come along.
(Update Thread Wiki?)
Okay guys, I got it figured out and this will help everyone who can't get this rebate to print at the register. Tell the cashier to enter this code: 354025, AS A SKU. This is the code to get the rebate form to print out in store.
For the individuals who already purchased the laptop, you'll have to be voided and re-rung up. It might be a pain in the ass, but this will work.
$5 off $50 printable coupon, in store use only, mentioned in several posts. It appears to exclude stacking coupons but some folks state they have used it successfully. I plan to try it Wednesday evening, 8-2. It worked at my local store. The clerk did not question it. On the other hand he had some qualms about using the $100 off Lenovo coupon. He stated he had never seen it.
This can also be purchase online using coupon code 87579 (thanks jdischy)
The rebate has to be mailed in with a copy of your student id even though it is available as an easyrebate.
OOS! I had it in my cart and couldn't even get to "click here to pay". Damn you SD!
^^ Same :'(
Rebate Problems: If the cashier forgot to scan the rebate or the MIR didn't print for some reason you DON'T need to re-purchase. Submit the in-store rebate online (Rebate offer Number: 12-96391). After a few hours it will say invalid because documents weren't provided. Chat with a CSR and they will tell you to e-mail/fax them a copy of the ID. It should be added to your account within 72 hours and the rebate should be validated.
^^ I didn't have the rebate printed with my receipt. Followed the steps given by above user and CSR asked me to mail Student ID copy (with Rebate Number) and said 48 hours for the update to reflect on the tracking page.
You can send free faxes using FaxZero . I just used it to send in my student ID since the staples chat rep. does not accept email.
Technical info on the laptop since people kept asking about this:
1) It has HD 4000 graphics card and it plays many 3D games at decent settings (including Diablo 3 and SC2).
2) It has Bluetooth 4.0
3) Wireless card is Intel 2200 BGN which is 2x2 and is single band (2.4Ghz)
4) 8GB RAM is 1600Mhz (fastest available for laptops)
5) You can add SSD via optical drive caddy (take out your DVD burner and replace it with an empty tray with 2.5" SATA connector).
6) Laptop is light for a 15" and keyboard is very nice. Although the keyboard is a bit cramped in order to include the numeric keypad. I hit the numlock key by mistake a few times already.
7) Touchpad feels very good (read: premium) and works better than previous ones I've had.
