I've looked for a sub compact 9mm for a while and have been waiting for a S&W Shield but not having any luck finding one. Seen this one today, I know it has been
on and off sale at Palmetto State for a while so don't know how long this will last.

Each Essentials Package comes with:

Two Magzines 1 16rd with mag extension, 1 13rd magazine
Cable Lock
Bore Brush

great gun, great price. wish this deal had been available back when i bought mine, but, oh well.

i outfitted mine with the trijicon hd night sights (orange front, green backs) and also put on a rubber talon grip and it's just wonderful.

let's keep the conversation limited to the deal and not about gun control, people.

Is this a great deal? What is the best price ever on here for this model?

Finally got to shoot my Black Friday XD9mm from PSA this past weekend. First trigger pull it didn't fire, but I didn't have the mag fully seated. Yay for a noob mistake, we'd just taken that range's NRA basic handgun course too :embarrassed: I really like the XD9, but I like the M&P line more. You can't go wrong with either one though.

Agreed. No sense in clogging up the thread with debate on whether to use one hand or two hands when shooting. I'm very pro-gun control, so I prefer using two hands.

Best deal I ever saw in the last 2-3 years is last fall's $365 shipped + three free (non-extended) mags from a Springfield rebate. Second best price was probably $380 the other week for this sub-compact version, and $370 the other week for one day for the full-size version. So, yeah, this is probably the best price on the subcompact model in about the last eight months.

Some other choices are the Ruger SR9c for around $385 shipped, sometimes a little cheaper, and S&W M&P for around $400-$420-ish. All are quite nice and have some pros and cons.

Great gun. I actually bought the XD9 4" Service model in 08 during their XD Gear promo for $419 + tax. The gun was awesome but I ended up trading it for A G26 and traded that for the XD9SC because I wanted the sub-compact model. I have 2 friends that ended up buying an XD9 because they both loved the way it felt and shoots. You can't really go wrong with an XD.

Hold on, there's no free shipping on this, right? So it's $385 shipped?

I have this exact same pistol as one of my CC EDCs, and agree it is an excellent pistol. I added one accessory to make it the perfect EDC IMO, a Viridian C5L green laser/100 lumen LED light combo [] (came with free Galco IWB holster to fit the xD with the Viridian on it), which is AWESOME and a PERFECT fit for this SC, like it was designed for it. I paid $399 for th exD9/SC shipped back when they were doing the Gear Up promotion, where you got 3 free mags and a 2 mag OWB holder via MIR, so IMO if you were planning on getting extra mags for this, then that deal was a bit cheaper, but this is still an excellent price, the lowest I have seen in a while. If you didn't want extra mags (which I did, I like to have at least 5 mags for every weapon I own, so I have to do less reloading at the range), then this deal is even better unless you sold the Gear up pack.

I regret getting the 9MM though, I should have gotten the .40, where with a drop in barrel I could have converted my .40 to a 9MM, unfortunately cannot go the other way around Frown.

EDIT: I just confirmed that it doesn't work on the xD SC .40, I was gonna try and upgrade Frown.

Excellent gun, whichever you choose. I have shot the XD9, and an XDM9 and while I would prefer the XDM two-tone -- you absolutely can't go wrong with the whole XD line. I'm waiting for a good sale on the XDS45 to replace my CCW

Because you think that's a) funny or b) clever. It may have been several years ago, but now, it's just stupid and old.
