Seems this is similar to the retention offer, sure ooma may be cheaper but you do not have to pay $150 plus for the box, you have 24/7 CS with Basic Talk. Tax's / fees are $3 or so in Colorado. Also no increase in price ever!

Quite a saving on the old plan, appears that 411 is not included however there are many other options for 411

Also includes free adapter and as of May 2013 no longer requires a contract

Is this $9.99 for the first three months then goes to $25.99? I don't see it at Vonage website.

No it stays at $9.99, it does appear that it has less added features but great for a Basic home phone.

I have the $9.99 plan, with one phantom number (two phone numbers that ring into my one phone line which costs $5 a month, and with taxes it is about $25 a month - AND WORTH EVERY PENNY! My only real disappointment with vonage is that my caller id incoming almost never says the name of the person, often it will say the city name they are calling from only.

I've been flirting with moving from ViaTalk because the VQ isn't great. I'm not sure if it's my SW FL connection or the VT Servers, but it's there. So might jump on this just to test it out?

Huge issue: Call Blocking Functionality. VT lets me specify particular numbers to block, forward (to any number I choose), or otherwise deal with (like sending them straight to VM, playing a "disconnected" message/tone sequence, etc.). They also let me manipulate incoming calls based on text appearing in the caller ID data.

--->>> Does Vonage provide this type of functionality?? These are highly beneficial features.

And btw, I didn't see anything in their list of features that sounds like this...fingers crossed.

TIA

I would go with Ooma which comes with 1 year warranty, no contract. Been using it for 15 months now. No issues. Monthly bill is less than $4.

For whatever reason, they still do not offer call blocking, it seems their set up just will not allow it although from many posts they certainly know about it!

Again, Ooma works for many but I have seen many reports of voice delays, limited CS hours, $9.99 a month if you want premier features and many people who have had their phone box break just after the warranty ends and have to buy a new one at full price $150 plus. Also Ooma network has gone down at least three times in the last two years. I actually went on the $7.99 retention plan which includes 300 minutes to many countries, 300 long distance which works out at $12.50 a month, it all depends on what features you want

It continues at $9.99 a month, I would presume that it would also go month to month at month 13
