Portable/USB-Powered Harddrive for a Mechanic
All,I need your help! I work as a mechanic and I just recently purchased a Belkin Play N600 HD router [amzn.to] like the one shown on the main page. I am hoping to use it to rebroadcast my hotspot from my phone since the shop doesn't have wifi (which I need for accessing waveform libraries,tech help databases, and the like). Since this router has two USB ports on it, and my Toughbook doesn't have nearly as much spare harddrive memory as I would like, I would like to put my information services on a harddrive so that I can remotely access them through the network from anywhere in the shop on my Toughbook. The constraints: These services are very large, so I need something that's at least 1+ TB, and apparently for this router to recognize the harddrive, it needs to be a self-powered harddrive. Thanks in advance! -Techniker P.S. Ask me about my diagnostic/network set up! I'm pretty excited about it. I've been planning this out for a long time! |
