50 Books for $50

I'm newly certified and just subbing around, I shot them an e-mail to see if they'd accept proof of certification from NYS and let me order. Fingers crossed!

Nothing I have tried works. If anyone finds a workaround please post or PM...I would love to start building a large library for our daughter. Literacy is the last defense against the Jersey Shorification of our youth.

I just answered the questainnaire saying i homeschool my first grader and gave the home info.

I basically did the same and just received a shipping confirmation this morning.

I believe Scholastic did this to help the real teachers with a classroom full of children. It is not meant for adults to figure out a way to be selfish so their child can have a library full of books.. What type of morals are you teaching????

I'm interested in the "real" teacher definition. Since being a home school parent there is a lot of time invested in educating my children that goes unpaid, yet I'm still paying 1000s in property taxes that go to the "choice" school in my area. I'm also confused as to the definition of "selfish" when "real" teachers are are doing a poor job educating and still enjoy good wages and great benefits taken from the taxpayer.

Great deal by the way but I can't see the books that you get so I'm not going to pull the trigger and try to get them.

I think the poster's message was intended for those that don't actually homeschool their students; the people that are trying to find a workaround or are willing to lie to suit their wants. Which is the same fraudulent and selfish act of any person making a claim for benefits of a group they do not belong to - likely easier to self-justify for many when it comes to buying books for the kids versus buying to trade in to Amazon.

However, as an elementary teacher whom purchased the 3-4 and 5-6 sets with his own money for his students, I'd hate to see the great discount be taken away because Scholastic feels too many are fraudulently taking advantage, and it isn't worth it for them.

Well I was eager to tell the faculty about it. So far 3 teachers are interested in seeing the selection I get.
