This is a great price per GB, but I am still gunshy after a very bad expierence with OCZ.

You're in luck, since this isn't a OZC drive.

Also, OCZ's latest drives are fine.

And you can put more than one in your cart. So tempting, but I'm out of SATA III ports as it is.

Au contraire, they aren't good at all.

The vertex/agility 4 series just got another in a long series of firmware updates, trying to resolve data corruption, bsods and other problems. I'd wait until the firmware releases die down for a month or so before I'd waste my money on these.

Every OCZ ssd has these issues. It took 6+ months before the vertex 2, 2 plus and 3 stopped eating data.

Not many reviews on this 512 version, but the 128 has plenty and over 20% of them are 3* or less with big problems.

The performance on these is about on par with mature, reliable and inexpensive drives like the samsung 830, crucial m4, or intel 520. In some instances they'll have slightly better speed, and in others somewhat worse. Plus those drives have single digit one to three star reviews, half the rate of the series 4 ocz drives. Basically if your 830/m4/520 isn't DOA right out of the box, you won't have much trouble with it.

Nothing worth risking $323 on.

Tax for SoCal makes this almost $347..

Still have 60GB free on my Vertex 3 Max IOPS (which I got for ~$220 at release). It was $259.99 retail, so I thought I was getting a great deal!! Luckily, I have this in a desktop with lots of space for extra backup storage, but I can see buying this for a laptop with a single drive bay.

This is probably one of the lowest I've seen on a 512GB SATA3 drive. As someone mentioned earlier, the OCZ drives did improve in reliability, but they're nowhere near perfect.

Not bad. Still holding out though
