Help me find a laptop

I need a new laptop. Will mostly be used at home and hooked up to an external monitor,
I use adobe publishing tools, microsoft office, and lots of internet research. I also want to be able to play gw2. I'm looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire...pd_cp_pc_0
Anyone have any other recommendations?

Looks like you did your homework. You could consider looking at A6/8/10 processors. Whats your budget?

Ideally, around $500. But I would go up to $700.

Not such a great deal now that the coupon has expired. Sorry I missed it. Any other suggestions? Just wait for the next round of school sales?

There is probably lot of options in the 15.6 and 17 inch varieties that are in the 500-700 dollar range if portability is not a concern.I guess you need something with a discrete graphics card. These deals should come back up soon. The dv4t has the most ports in that size category imo. 3 usb, hdmi,vga,sd card etc.
Back to school is starting and Win 8 is coming in 3 months. I like HP since they don't charge restocking fee and their cust.service is okay. I guess if you were to customize get minimum memory then buy memory for cheap online to max out. This site below may be of help.

This one isnt worth the extra 200dollars cost imo.


The 579 acer will be good for all of the OPs needs and he can always install a SSD and/or 4more gigs of ram to speed up your system at a later date if needed.
