I'm not going to flame but I am going to point out that many officers don't have a choice because they don't have final say in what is issued and many places won't allow the use of other weapons.

I believe the military is the same way, they have become even more strict in this regards in recent years I have read.

I own a 9mm XDM, I love it. Not to say I "HATE" glocks, they just didn't fit my hand very well. I would have actually bought a sig if I had the cash at the time.

You'll find tons of police and ex military who carry and love springfield's and there are many police who do carry XD's. I believe there are a few departments which have them as standard issue but not many, but you do realize that you are defending the sigs/glocks because they came in with the lowest bid lol, i find that kind of silly to use that reasoning as the basis of an argument over what gun is "better".

Personally I think they are both damn good and I think neither of them stacks up to a nice Sig but that's just me...
