So you say why buy a $1000 Mac while you can get the same specs for $400 PC??

RESELL VALUE!! a Mac after 4 years usage can be easily sell for 60% back if you keep it in good condition while a PC after 4 years is pretty worthless, no one wanna buy that shit!! For $1000 I spend on a Macbook pro today, I can get $600 back in 4 years so the cost is $400 which is the same as a PC.

I'm curious what exactly can be a straighter answer than "People buy Macs because they prefer Macs"?

You claim hostility towards you and deny that you're the problem yet you are the one who is cant accept that, no matter ow much smoke you blow towards them, some people simply prefer chicken over steak.

Some people "PREFER" the OSX experience. Pure and simple. They rather spend the extra Apple tax for the OS they prefer to use. Simple as that. Some people like vanilla ice cream and some people like broccoli soup.

I use it because my clients and work are all mac based. I have all mac software which cost $$$$ thousands of dollars. Some of the software allow you to legally install on many multiple macs as you own. For example, Final Cut Pro. FCP is an expensive piece of software and no $700-800 Dell is gonna cut it. If your software investment is $4-5,000. The extra few hundred dollar difference between a mac and a pc is trivial.

The cheaper PC (i own a $1500 Thinkpad) doesn't make me any money. SO they extra apple tax I pay is made up in 1-2 days billable consulting. PC/Mac fanboysim doesn't pay for my kids school and food for dinner. Get it? Some people use computers to make a living besides surf facebook and youtube.

It is a like a piece of tool. DeWitt or Makai drill bits. Or Sear craftsman. Take your pick and choose what makes you more productive.

And remember, not everyone pirate software.

Yes, I understand that you can buy some really expensive software for Mac. Or PC. But the civilized discussion I was having with Ion Control earlier in this thread (before the attackers came out of the woodwork) was more about the basics that most users look at. Intel processor, WD or Seagate HDD, screen size and resolution etc. He was going to compare a couple laptops but I don't know what happened there.

Anyway, Im really unsure why you act as if you're being attacked all the time because I really dont think anyone cares about the product choices of strangers as much as you do. Its just not that big a deal if someone prefers Mac or Windows anymore.

If I get a dollar each time I see an argument between Mac vs PC on slickdeal, I would have got this for free. We buy Mac simply because we like the cool fancy design, the OSX and excellent customer service. Still not convinced??

For the same amount of money paid for usage, why do I have to settle for less, for a crappy looking, cheap ugly POS plastic PC? While I can a fancy laptop that looks good and feel good to use plus excellent customer support?? I like to have a new laptop every year or two, so a Mac is perfect because I know I can resell it easily anytime.

In the end, it's our money. We can do whatever the F we want with it so stop thread crapping every single time!! If you hate Mac, why the F you have to click on the thread anyway?

I'm no rocket scientist and I am not always correct, but the fact that aren't using it to answer your question and are asking it in a deal thread with language that is exagerrated and insulting to the product that you are just innocently inquiring about is probably why you get called a troll.

I don't mean to be offensive by saying this, but have you ever thought that YOU might be the problem? If you have to ask "many times" the same question over and over then you aren't being "inquisitive" like you claim, you are pretty much harassing people for not making the same choices that you would have made. I'm sure Apple Care is wonderful but it sounds like people buy that because they KNOW they will have to use it. Not a good selling point for what I already perceive to be an overpriced computer.

Worst laptop? Depends, worst is subjective. I think their worst laptop is the one that you can't upgrade two years from now. That would be the Macbook Air line and the Retina MBP. Just saying.
