I WAS AN IDIOT AND FUNDED ACCT WITH CREDIT CARD - DO NOT FUND WITH CC- CASH ADVANCE CHARGE WILL KILL THIS FOR YOU

1Offer expires September 30, 2012 and is not available to existing Serve account holders or any person that has previously canceled his or her Serve account. To receive the $25 from Serve, you must open a new Serve account (subject to approval) and add $25 or more, which must post to your new Serve account on or before September 30, 2012. In some instances, it may take several days for added funds to post to your account, so please allow sufficient time for that process to occur. Serve will provide a one-time credit to your Serve account of $25 within thirty (30) days of you satisfying the above requirements. Funds loaded via person-to-person send/receive money transactions will not satisfy the account funding requirements. Limit one (1) $25 credit per new Serve account. Subaccounts are not eligible for the credit. Offer subject to change or cancellation at any time and cannot be combined with any other offer(s).

Have to give last 4 digits of SSN
--> Comment: For those of you who are freaking out about giving out your social, American Express's standard policy for all accounts (from SERVE accounts to Prepaid cards to Credit Cards) is to require SSN for first-time customers. If you are an existing American Express account holder (with any of their products which already has your SSN on file), then you do not need to provide all the verification details again. Keep in mind, however, you WILL need to verify your identity if you have never been an American Express customer. This is their company policy.

- A Verizon account is NOT necessary... Fund using your debit card to get the bonus $25 instantly... Then you can withdraw the $50 to your bank account...

- Adding funds from a bank account can take a few days (plus a few days to verify the bank account itself if you don't opt for an instant verification). If you'd like your promo to be reflected on your account as soon as possible, then use a debit card instead.

- Serve is waiving load fees for credit cards until 2013, however, your financial institution's cash advance fees may (and most probably will) apply.

Make sure you go to My Account __> Settings __> Privacy to opt out of marketing and the sharing of your information!!

-Code is VZBTS25

Entire process can take as little as 5 days to complete, to see an example WITH SCREENSHOTS, please see this post: http://slickdeals.net/f/5001774-25-credit-when-you-open-a-Serve-Account-and-add-25?v=1&p=52342194#post52342194

Promotion FAQs

What is the promotion? How does it work?
Sign up for a Serve® account (subject to approval) and when you load $25 or more via a checking account, savings account, debit card, credit card or MoneyPak® on or before September 30, 2012, Serve will provide a one-time $25 credit to your Serve account. You must sign up through serve.com/vzbts25 to receive the offer.

How long is the offer valid?
Once you sign up for a Serve account (subject to approval), you have through September 30, 2012 to complete a qualifying load from your funding source.

What funding source can I use to fund my account in order to qualify for the offer?
You can fund via checking account, savings account, debit card, credit card (MasterCard®, Visa®, or American Express® Cards) (cash advance fees may apply for credit card loads; please check with your credit card issuer for details) or add cash with a MoneyPak® (MoneyPak purchase fees may apply). Serve does not currently charge fees for adding money; please see the Schedule of Fees in the Serve Consumer User Agreement for details.

If I load my account by requesting funds from a friend, will I still qualify for the offer?
Only amounts loaded via checking account, savings account, debit card, credit card (MasterCard®, Visa®, or American Express® Cards) or MoneyPak® will satisfy the $25 funding requirement.

Once I load my account, how long will it take to credit my account?

Serve will credit your new Serve account $25 within thirty (30) days after you fund the account with $25 or more.

How will I know when the credit has been applied to my account?
The credit will appear in your Serve account.

Can I load several times to meet the load level?
No, you must meet or exceed the one-time load amount $25 or more to receive the offer.

If I establish subaccounts and fund those subaccounts with $25 or more, will Serve credit each subaccount $25?
No, unfortunately the $25 credit is a one-time credit that will only be deposited in the primary Serve account provided the qualifications are met.

I am a subaccount holder, can I receive the offer?
Unfortunately as a subaccount holder, you are not eligible for this offer.

I already have a Serve account. Can I receive the offer?
The offer applies only to new Serve customers that sign up through the offer. Neither current nor former Serve account holders may receive the offer.

I signed up for an account, but I haven't received my verification email. What do I do?
The Serve account verification email should arrive in your email inbox within 30 minutes of registration. If it has not arrived, the first step is to check your spam folder or junk mail. The email is valid for seven days. If you still have not received the verification, you can log into your Serve account and request a new email verification by clicking on “Resend Email” on your Serve account dashboard. Still having trouble? Call Serve customer service at 1-800-954-0559.

When will I get my new Serve card in the mail so I can activate it?
You should receive your Serve card within 7-10 business days after you register. Although we’ll try our very best to get it to you sooner!

How do I activate my Serve card?
Have your card in hand and visit serve.com/activate or call 1-800-597-0184. Follow the prompts to activate your card and then it is ready for use on purchases.

What can I do with the Serve card?
Serve is a reloadable prepaid account that can be used for everyday purchases everywhere American Express® Cards are accepted in the U.S. With Serve you can also send and receive money by email, text, and Facebook and access your account with the mobile app. Serve has no credit checks, no monthly or annual fees, and no long-term commitments.

Can I make a purchase with my Serve card if I don't have enough available funds in my account to complete my purchase?
If you have a credit card or debit card linked to your Serve account, the card you have set as your backup funding source will be charged or debited for the remaining balance of your purchase. Please note that cash advance fees may apply for credit card loads; please check with your credit card issuer for details.

I was trying to access my Serve account, but I got locked out because I forgot my password. What do I do?
You can reset your password online at serve.com. Just click “Reset My Password” on the login page and follow the steps. If you cannot successfully reset your password online, you can always call Serve customer service at (800) 954-0559 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

i got this bullshit this month as well, they want me to fax my SS document, and I am not comfortable doing that as I dont have a fax and using an online free fax to send this kind of info is too troublesome. I got money tied to my account. They gave me this option to verify my identity or to provide a # with my name on it and my cell# doesnt work Frown must be because i have prepaid. This is ridiculous requirements after I manage to get my funds withdrawn im done with this service. I am thinking if I used this account strictly for purchases i would of never heard of this problem. Clearly they want to put a stop to card loading and withdrawing. Also for the phone-name identification verifier they want the name on the # for 90 days! So they really want you to give them your SS papers.

Anyone know why I am getting this message on my Serve account when I try to add a Staples $60 Visa card:

We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please call Customer Service at 1-800-954-0559.

It had been working fine previously with adding my VISA GCs I got from my Trend Micro rebates, but since I last night I can't add this Staples VISA debit card. Can we add a Staples VISA debt to cash out or not?

Yes, you can, but I think it has been getting harder to do so. Have you registered a name and address to the gift card via https://mygift.giftcardmall.com/ ?

You need to have the same name and address on the gift card as is on your Serve account for verification purposes.

But I did not need to register my other VISA GC cards I got and all of them worked with no issue.

I tried to register an account and in Step 1 put in the Staples VISA GC info and when I click Next to go to step 2 it gives me a red error message on top that says "The information you entered is not valid, please try again."

So I don't know what is wrong here. Is my account locked by Serve from adding any more of these cards or what?

I was in the same boat as you and I was not able to add my Trend Micro card it says we are unable to process your request. I called customer service and they said there was a lock on my account and that they will release it. They asked me last 4 of my SSN, they released the lock and I was able to add that card and other cards as well.

Same thing happened with mine within the past two weeks (had been able to add Trend Micro cards, then was trying to add a Staples Visa and got the very same message). I finally called and they had locked my account. They didn't ask that I provide social security card and all that though, they just verified my landline phone number, called me on it while I was on the line with them on my cell phone (to confirm it was me) and then they unlocked it.

i was wondering about this, too. for some reason March 6th is the date that comes to mind that they were going to start assessing fees, but i read through the consumer agreement as well as the terms of service agreement on the website and there is no mention of charging fees for loading from a credit card. i thought the terms of service or the consumer agreement used to specify a particular date in march but I'm not finding it anywhere. maybe they decided not to start charging fees after all. i'm getting ready to try to load from a prepaid card. assuming it lets me (haven't tried again since they said they unlocked my account) i'll report back if there were any fees charged.

They locked my account for a second time even though I've previously provided them with my SSN and copies of some debit cards that I loaded. Normally I think of Amex as having good customer service but so far I've spent well over 2 hours on the phone between the two times they locked my account.
