I WAS AN IDIOT AND FUNDED ACCT WITH CREDIT CARD - DO NOT FUND WITH CC- CASH ADVANCE CHARGE WILL KILL THIS FOR YOU

1Offer expires September 30, 2012 and is not available to existing Serve account holders or any person that has previously canceled his or her Serve account. To receive the $25 from Serve, you must open a new Serve account (subject to approval) and add $25 or more, which must post to your new Serve account on or before September 30, 2012. In some instances, it may take several days for added funds to post to your account, so please allow sufficient time for that process to occur. Serve will provide a one-time credit to your Serve account of $25 within thirty (30) days of you satisfying the above requirements. Funds loaded via person-to-person send/receive money transactions will not satisfy the account funding requirements. Limit one (1) $25 credit per new Serve account. Subaccounts are not eligible for the credit. Offer subject to change or cancellation at any time and cannot be combined with any other offer(s).

Have to give last 4 digits of SSN
--> Comment: For those of you who are freaking out about giving out your social, American Express's standard policy for all accounts (from SERVE accounts to Prepaid cards to Credit Cards) is to require SSN for first-time customers. If you are an existing American Express account holder (with any of their products which already has your SSN on file), then you do not need to provide all the verification details again. Keep in mind, however, you WILL need to verify your identity if you have never been an American Express customer. This is their company policy.

- A Verizon account is NOT necessary... Fund using your debit card to get the bonus $25 instantly... Then you can withdraw the $50 to your bank account...

- Adding funds from a bank account can take a few days (plus a few days to verify the bank account itself if you don't opt for an instant verification). If you'd like your promo to be reflected on your account as soon as possible, then use a debit card instead.

- Serve is waiving load fees for credit cards until 2013, however, your financial institution's cash advance fees may (and most probably will) apply.

Make sure you go to My Account __> Settings __> Privacy to opt out of marketing and the sharing of your information!!

-Code is VZBTS25

Entire process can take as little as 5 days to complete, to see an example WITH SCREENSHOTS, please see this post: http://slickdeals.net/f/5001774-25-credit-when-you-open-a-Serve-Account-and-add-25?v=1&p=52342194#post52342194

Promotion FAQs

What is the promotion? How does it work?
Sign up for a Serve(R) account (subject to approval) and when you load $25 or more via a checking account, savings account, debit card, credit card or MoneyPak(R) on or before September 30, 2012, Serve will provide a one-time $25 credit to your Serve account. You must sign up through serve.com/vzbts25 to receive the offer.

How long is the offer valid?
Once you sign up for a Serve account (subject to approval), you have through September 30, 2012 to complete a qualifying load from your funding source.

What funding source can I use to fund my account in order to qualify for the offer?
You can fund via checking account, savings account, debit card, credit card (MasterCard(R), Visa(R), or American Express(R) Cards) (cash advance fees may apply for credit card loads; please check with your credit card issuer for details) or add cash with a MoneyPak(R) (MoneyPak purchase fees may apply). Serve does not currently charge fees for adding money; please see the Schedule of Fees in the Serve Consumer User Agreement for details.

If I load my account by requesting funds from a friend, will I still qualify for the offer?
Only amounts loaded via checking account, savings account, debit card, credit card (MasterCard(R), Visa(R), or American Express(R) Cards) or MoneyPak(R) will satisfy the $25 funding requirement.

Once I load my account, how long will it take to credit my account?

Serve will credit your new Serve account $25 within thirty (30) days after you fund the account with $25 or more.

How will I know when the credit has been applied to my account?
The credit will appear in your Serve account.

Can I load several times to meet the load level?
No, you must meet or exceed the one-time load amount $25 or more to receive the offer.

If I establish subaccounts and fund those subaccounts with $25 or more, will Serve credit each subaccount $25?
No, unfortunately the $25 credit is a one-time credit that will only be deposited in the primary Serve account provided the qualifications are met.

I am a subaccount holder, can I receive the offer?
Unfortunately as a subaccount holder, you are not eligible for this offer.

I already have a Serve account. Can I receive the offer?
The offer applies only to new Serve customers that sign up through the offer. Neither current nor former Serve account holders may receive the offer.

I signed up for an account, but I haven't received my verification email. What do I do?
The Serve account verification email should arrive in your email inbox within 30 minutes of registration. If it has not arrived, the first step is to check your spam folder or junk mail. The email is valid for seven days. If you still have not received the verification, you can log into your Serve account and request a new email verification by clicking on "Resend Email" on your Serve account dashboard. Still having trouble? Call Serve customer service at 1-800-954-0559.

When will I get my new Serve card in the mail so I can activate it?
You should receive your Serve card within 7-10 business days after you register. Although we'll try our very best to get it to you sooner!

How do I activate my Serve card?
Have your card in hand and visit serve.com/activate or call 1-800-597-0184. Follow the prompts to activate your card and then it is ready for use on purchases.

What can I do with the Serve card?
Serve is a reloadable prepaid account that can be used for everyday purchases everywhere American Express(R) Cards are accepted in the U.S. With Serve you can also send and receive money by email, text, and Facebook and access your account with the mobile app. Serve has no credit checks, no monthly or annual fees, and no long-term commitments.

Can I make a purchase with my Serve card if I don't have enough available funds in my account to complete my purchase?
If you have a credit card or debit card linked to your Serve account, the card you have set as your backup funding source will be charged or debited for the remaining balance of your purchase. Please note that cash advance fees may apply for credit card loads; please check with your credit card issuer for details.

I was trying to access my Serve account, but I got locked out because I forgot my password. What do I do?
You can reset your password online at serve.com. Just click "Reset My Password" on the login page and follow the steps. If you cannot successfully reset your password online, you can always call Serve customer service at (800) 954-0559 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Where can I get more information about Serve?

Was the issue resolved?
Yes, it was resolved. I acted like I had no clue why my account was closed, even tho I got 2 dif emails telling me I had to prove my SSN and then one saying somethign about a credit card...She asked for a moment to look around and came back saying it looked like I tried to open a second acct........But that one was never completed..sooo, My acct was corrected by her.

Funny thing is that the one that was never completed was the first(orig) one I was going to open and for some reason decided to not do it.

All is good, but 2 hours is a long time to wait...glad I had GV and s peaker and other things to do online while waiting.

At least you don't have to sent in your SSN. My wait time is an hour plus need to send in my SSN copy.

I def got lucky in that she ASSUMED the reason for the lock out was because of a potential 2nd account..and when she saw that is was never fully activated, then just released my funds... IF it wasnt for that, I assumme they wouldve wanted the same thing from me, ssn card verif and other things.

Called (1-800-555-4318) and talked to a very nice young lady, and she really did not see anything wrong with my account. She then asked about a gift card I had loaded, which I told her I no longer physically had. (I might be able to find it if I looked really hard).
She then said ok, I will unlock your account, which it now is.
I asked her if I was not supposed to load gift cards? She said no, that it was fine to load gift cards.
I think if I had the gift card (wink wink) she would have asked me to send a copy of it to them. (She also said that I did nothing wrong and that she was going to talk with someone about all of these locked accounts.)

Thanks, aanairai for your help.
I am trying to call them now and it's going straight to full mailbox so I am not able to do anything. Does anyone this department working hours?

I believe it is between 7 or 8 am-6 pm CT.

It takes a while reach their account protection services.

Didn't want to go through verification nightmare others are going through, so just pulled the trigger by transfering $50 to my checking acct.
Don't even have the card in the mail yet.

If your account is locked before the transfer goes through, they will stop the transfer and ask you verify your information.

Does anyone know know if you can use the serve card like a debit card and get back cash with a purchase? Say buy something from target for $5 then get $100 cash back?

If so, what would be the steps?

I've had my account for about a year and just realized that they locked me out and never let me know. Now I get to join in on the fun and be on hold forever.

Can anyone verify that the number they were given to fax to is 1-855-415-7125? They wanted a copy of my SSN faxed to them and then they said they would accept a copy of a debit card that I added to my account. I've never had a problem with any Amex customer service in the past but this all comes off as very shady. Plus the customer service rep almost sounded annoyed at my unwillingness to fax my social security card to them.

Call this number to speak to someone in Account Protection Services 18005554318 to ask what is really needed as they mistakenly locked my account for ssn verification only to find out that they needed my debit card information.... Please keep us updated.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the response, the Account Protection Services department gave me that fax number and told me to fax them debit cards that I had added to the account. I did a search on the number and nothing came up so I wanted to double-check to see if that is the same number that other people have been given.

They are asking to fax over all the debit cards used to fund the account? That's strange considering I only sent over my last funding source. Also, call them and ask if you can stay on hold while they verify the information so your funds can be immediately released.

I hope this nightmare is over for you soon.

They said they will take any card that I had added but most of them I have thrown away already since they were prepaid rebate cards, I'm still trying to find one that I might have kept.

Did you win the camel.com instant win game and used it to fund your serve account? If so sign in at up2urewards.com and print up the mastercard information with your name cvv and number. It should work.
