I did see on the news. One lady for charged $9,000 on her numerous duplicate bookings.

I had 28 extra charges on my 3 credit cards. All 3 cards have 0 credit available now. Spent 1 hr on phone with Rep and got 28 reservation cancelled and kept 1 reservation active which I really wanted. But suddenly after 10 hrs got an email saying that 1 reservation is cancelled too. Called them again but they won't honor it. Even though it's their mistake. I had booked rental cars and hotels in afternoon thinking the issue is resolved. But Southwest still had this last surprise for me. Totally screwed up service. Will never fly with them.

Any1 else receive a cancellation this morning (Sunday 8/5, 7am est)?
WTF: I booked on Friday ... received a confirmation email Late Friday night ... Then they just cancel it the next day ... can they do this? Some of the SlickDeals I liked:

I just got off the phone with SWA and asked what kind of compensation they were going to offer for their error and was told it is something that might be in the works. I was also told to send an email through there web site and complain about what had happened and that the more emails they receive the better the chance of some kind of compensation.
After all if there is an error or issue at the airport they usually offer something when it is their fault. Why should this be any different? |

I was actually already traveling on 9/5 one-way, so I booked a round trip using the coupon on the same flight, plus added a return flight. I got assigned the same confirmation # as before and thought it strange, so wanted to talk to someone there before cancelling my original flight. Didn't want to stay on hold for hours so I tried today. Well, they have ZERO record of my purchase. Good thing I didn't cancel my old flight yet. My CC also does not show any charge. Darn. I would have saved $200. Girl on the phone could only offer apologies and nothing else. |

Received a dozen or so cancellation emails.
I still have 2 active confirmations, not going to mess with cancelling one of them yet until they sort everything out and I am sure they won't cancel both of them. |

$150 Southwest Luv Voucher
I got shafted with the "unrecognized coupon" error last week. Today they sent me an email saying that I would be receiving a $150 e Southwest Luv Voucher in 10 days. Probably works better for me, as I was trying book a Vegas trip, and 7 days there can be expensive!!!
Slickest: 1 Penny for new Epson Artisan 835 printer!!

I have $6K worth of charges on my credit card (not debit card, thank god). I proactively cancelled all except two of them via their website on Saturday. Then Southwest went ahead and cancelled the other two that I wanted to keep! Long story short, after two calls and about 2 hours on hold, everything is straightened out.
Just got a $150 voucher for my troubles. |

I booked a flight from PHX-MDW for $157.00. I used $150 in gift cards, then paid the other $7.00 on my credit card. I wasn't even aware I had been charged multiple times until I just got an email from them saying my account was affected, and I would be receiving a $150 voucher good for future travel. For me, this turned out to be quite a slick deal.

Got email stating $150 credit in future email. I had booked flight for 3 people on my SWA Visa. Got charged 5 times total. Looks like SW is taking care of me for years to come..

Hey did you guys get your $150 LUV vouchers yet. I got the future credit email as well on the 6th, and it is well past 10 business days now but no voucher email. |
