Need cheap getaway for family

why not try east asia like philippines, malaysia, thailand, singapore.

Its safe and you would enjoy relaxing to the beach with the family.

If there are rooms available, take them to Yosemite. I always enjoyed staying at Camp Curry as a kid and hiking through the snow, hitting up the ski slope for a day, or going to get hot cocoa at the Awahnee.

Or if you find a $250 R/T ticket to SE Asia I'd suggest that as well

$250 R/T ticket to SE Asia???? I wish. I would settle for $500 R/T to HK or Indonesia. Anyone know if these kind of deals exist? Yosemite is a good idea. But my 2yr old is not potty trained yet. :-( Was thinking of a cruise... like Mexico so I can drive to the departure port instead of flying.. but cheapest Carnival cruise is $2400 for 4 of us.

You cannot get a cheap ticket to SE asia. plus it will be tough with a young kid (2) and i do not think your 5 year old will like it.

cruise is the most relaxing option. though be aware the childcare will not take the 2 year in so be prepared to keep him/her busy unless you want to pay for private baby sitting (can become expensive). If you look for cruise deals you will find plenty at thanksgiving time.. If 7 day cruise is expensive try 4 day cruise (all four of you can be in one room and that will cut down on the expenses)

another option the kids will like is disney. You can possibly get a vacation rental 9though unlikely to be cheap in the weeks you are looking at).

Heh, I was commenting on how you wanted a cheap getaway and the guy above me suggested flying all the way over there

I recently got a $650 flight to Singapore out of LAX (and then a $80 flight down to Bali) but that deal is long gone. They do crop up every now and then. If you want Mexico you may be able to get a relatively cheap package deal to Cabo, not sure
