Vodka?

Going to friends house and want to bring a bottle.
Any suggestions?
I'm not a vodka drinker so aside from the typical brands I don't know what's good.

You'll see plenty on the internet saying Svedka is much better than its price suggests.
One of the best cheap ones imo is Burnetts. (well, certain ones of them.) Check out their orange cream one. I bet a lot of people wouldn't mind drinking that straight-up. Burnetts is strong too at 80 or even 100 proof.

UV vodka is pretty good in blue. I think it's only 40 proof, though, so as far as alcohol content it could be considered a ripoff. haha

If you want to make things more interesting, bring some Yukon Jack. 100 proof and sweet like honey.

Don't go cheap with vodka imo especially if your bringing it over to someones house. Also I wouldnt buy a flavored one either because you don't know what other people are going to be mixing it with.

Ketle one, chopin, belvedere, grey goose and finlandia are all great choices, speaking from experience of course and these are not flavored ones and stay away from plastic bottles

I agree with Deusxmachina. The whole point of vodka is that it's colorless, odorless, and flavorless, so it's basically just watered down ethanol, but unfortunately with hints of what it was made from, which is a bad thing, because it goes against the whole colorless/odorless/flavorless point of the stuff. It's 40% ethanol, 57-58% water, and 2-3% other stuff. Anyone that recommends Grey Goose because it's smooth is just receiving a nice kick in the pants from our good friend, the placebo effect. It's 40% alcohol, which will be no more smooth than any other decent 40% vodka. Buy something besides the bottom-of-the-shelf plastic bottles and you'll be fine, especially if you're mixing.

I love this vodka. Very smooth.

Grey Goose

On the cheaper side, Seagram's is rather good for it's price point. Blue Ice is also better than it's price suggests.

I mean to each is own. However, grey goose isn't the best value. With unexperienced vodka drinkers (which is most) they really can't tell the difference. I say UV. It's cheap, it's decent, it's a value. I'm telling you. Deusxmachina had the best suggestions out of them all. If you go grey goose you'll get some swagger effect because it's known to locals as high end. However, your on SLICKDEALS. Go with what Deusxmachina said. Very true.

If you are talking a "slickdeal", Sobieski is actually pretty high end with a low end price. It is on the same level quality wise as Grey Goose. You could actually put this in a Grey Goose bottle and most couldn't tell the difference.
