Drugstore/Grocery Forum Needs Category Icons

I posted last August (I think it's been archived) this same request.

We have a need for new Category Icons in the Drugstore/Grocery forum. Unlike other threads, we only have Six category icons we can choose when posting a new thread. They are: CVS, Walgreens, RideAid, Grocery, Question and Chat.

We have threads that have no category icons on them (like the large Target thread) and also threads that have category icons that don't really fit like the large Printable Coupon thread which I'm the OP of which had to have an icon of Grocery when we have coupons for all kinds of products, toys, office supplies, cleaners, etc.

By Category Icons, I'm referring to the boxed icon that shows up in the summary view of a forum that you can click and re-sort to show threads with those icons first.

Could we have the following Category Icons added?

Target
Walmart
Kmart
Coupons

Thats a great idea. Maybe the coupon previews could be put under coupon also rather than chat.

There absolutely is a quantifiable need for new category icons in the Drugstore/Grocery forum, particularly a "Coupons" icon.

Adding those categories would be a great help to those of us (newcomers and regulars alike) who use these threads! It can get a little confusing trying to find a particular subject or store with the limited number of options available now.

Well now, adding these new Category icons just makes too much sense!

YES they are absolutely needed. Trying to find anything now just becomes confusing as SO MUCH is jumbled in under too general a category.

Please add new Category Icons.

This seems like a reasonable request. The stores mentioned are large and many people shop at them and it would make it easier to locate the threads. And coupons needs one since we need those before visiting these stores.

I believe bryantq's comment referred to the category/filter system, not the old icons.

Target, Kmart, and Walmart already have store categories and can be filtered on like you want

If you tag the threads with the appropriate category, they will appear in those lists

Thanks, I do understand what bryant was talking about with the tagging.

But are you doing away with the "old" category icons? They seem to still be used heavily in the other forums. I don't understand why we don't have more than 6 in the Drugstore thread? It is so much easier to use the icon to quickly re-sort the forum by the icon I've selected than even going in and setting up a filter.

Hot Deals seems to have 23 category icons? 16 in the Freebies Forum? I hope you're not getting rid of them and see the need in Drugstore. Thanks!

I agree, that would be a good thing to add the new category icons.

That is a great idea!
It would be easier to find WM, T, K when filtering for the grocery threads (or maybe make an "superstore" icon as a category if SD doesn't want for one icon each...although everyone wants to feel special ). Having a sticky for them is not enough when there already are a tonne other to check in on. A coupon icon is a really good idea too. I actually never knew to go into the chat thread to see the preview as there is already so much to do and there is always a kind SDer in D/G to remind us.

I for one do NOT want the Target Chat thread moved, and I'm sure the majority of the TCCers feel that way too. We've already been evicted from the Deals thread.... (before your time sdNewby)

Yes please don't move the Target chat thead, we are fine where we are and
the D/G thread is already clogged and congested ,making it diifucult to sort through , due to it's size.

But....going back to the request of this thread...if we these few more category icons, it's simple to sort through. For example, you would just click on the category icon box of Target, and then any Target thread would be the first ones listed.
