Black friday usually has good deals on common laptops rather than these special Gaming laptops. But anything is possible. check notebookreviews [notebookreview.com] for advice.
eg.common regular laptops like Asus i7 2670qm GT540 for $600; probably this year it will be Intel 3rd gen i5 or i7 with GT 630 or GT640 for $600. (I've been following budget friendly priced laptops like this primarily the past year, instead of the amazing high end tech around $850-$3000; we need an expert to shead some advice who routinely purchases this type of laptop in the past 5 years.) I've heard Sager is another great company for gaming laptops: http://www.sagernotebo Another site (unsure of reviews etc); They have Asus, Sager, & MSI. http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gam...96_98.htm Not sure of Ibuypower reliability etc but they might have nice prices/great specs: http://www.ibuypower.c Dell Alienware-but looks more pricey http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rc...f Last edited by atoneapone; 08-30-2012 at 07:02 AM.. |

Most laptop sales I see are for under $500, so I have no real reference point on more expensive ones. How does this laptop look value wise? Can I find better for less or is it a good deal?
$1012.00 after shipping

I'm no expert with knowing true value of $1000 systems....I only know a little about gpu classes 1 & 2, based on this site:http://www.notebookche
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 2GB GDDR3 may still be a tad weak for a serious gaming laptop, due to the GDDR3 speed. This tends to get picked on by die hard gamers. They always want GDDR5 vram or else it's a big disappointment. A GTX660m has faster GDDR5 vram so I'd probably try my best having this gpu at a minimum for $1000 system ....it just depends on how picky each person is and what other features are more important to be configured in the overall package. Edit: A Great deal came 24 hrs after I made this post: Lenovo i7 iveybridge 660 GTX bluray/dvd for $850 After $100 rebate --directly from Lenovo and AMAZON.
