Any magicians on slickdeals?
I've been watching some YouTube videos of Penn & Teller: Fool Us and it got me curious again about close up magic. Are there any magicians on Slickdeals that know of some good books to practice from? I'm sure I can Google the term and get a billion results but I want to get some recommendations from people as well.edit: more specifically I like card tricks but other close up magic may work (coin tricks, paper tricks, ball tricks, etc.) Last edited by RUsum1; 08-03-2012 at 08:48 PM.. I used to use Penguin Magic back in the day...
If you refer to your husband/wife as 'DH/DW', you're too old to be active on a forum.
If you ask for marriage advice on a(ny) forum, you should seriously reevaluate your life. If you don't know the difference between 'their', 'there', and 'they're', I automatically assume you have a mental disability (same goes for to/two/too and your/you're/yore). |

You might contact Selma - she surely has some tricks up her sleeve! If you get to LA sometime, try and go to the Magic Castle. It's too much fun. The gift shop has some cool stuff, plus you can take classes.

One of the best up close, sleight of hand books ever: Now You See It, Now You Don't!: Lessons in Sleight of Hand [amazon.com] by Bill Tarr.
Just for entertainment (no lesson involved), watch this card trick [youtube.com] and prepare to be blown away by the all-time master of card manipulation and card tricks, Ricky Jay. Last edited by Brian1; 08-04-2012 at 11:52 PM.. Use wisely your power of choice.

There was a card trick I had saved on YouTube that was awesome. In the trick, the guy would show his palm as if he were "palming" a card then turn it over and seem to make a card appear to drop from his palm. Also part of the trick he did a palm to palm transfer but both hands were empty (merely for comedic value). I can't seem to find it and it's probably too vague of a description for someone else to recognize it. I also like this trick [youtube.com] which I'm sure any experienced person knows but it would be great to do Last edited by RUsum1; 08-10-2012 at 05:17 PM.. |

I think they have books as well, but they have a plethora of how-to videos available for purchase. |

You can find that book on ebay for about $10.

I really have no experience in any of this, it's just been a fascination of mine that I would like to try out to see how I'm good at. |
