if the usb port interests you in terms of hacking there is some potential in this. I however would rather go for the e2000 refurb which is regularly around 30 because you get gigabit and select able dual band (obviously the e3000 steps it up at 46 refurb but that is also alot more in cost). At the end of the day the usb port in terms of transfer speed is really slow and really only suitable for music/ small files and if tomato usb works you can use it to connect a usb printer.
