It's going to take some time to get custom recovery, as far custom rom and kernel we are still a long way to go since we don't have the source code from the manufacturer, however once full root/busybox it's achieve we definitely can push and remove files, apps, etc at system level, we can also benefit from 3rd party scripts like supercharger and similar, modify the build prop for maximum market compatibility, etc.... The possibilities are almost endless. |

The earlier ordered ones came with 1.04 and they already have tablets with 1.05 going out within a week, perhaps because of a different LCD screen, hence my having to revert back to 1.04 for a working screen? You know more about this stuff than I do. What would your guess be? If thats the case, that we are going to need 2 different sets of custom roms, 1 for each? |

Update after a few days of using this: for what it is, it's been absolutely great. Apps open up quickly, it browses the web quickly, I have had zero issues with it dropping a signal or anything else like that, I have had no compatibility issues, etc. It's come in handy to have this at work as it's easier toting this around than my laptop - I've been able to use it for quick emails, updating our Twitter account, syncing my calendar has been VERY nice, I've used it for light productivity (Office) when I've been stuck up front with customers (ie, not able to sit in my office in from of my laptop).
I'm also impressed with the build quality. Honestly, I was expecting a fairly clunky, ugly, raw piece of hardware but it's quite sleek and the fit & finish is perfect. Another +1 to Evo for posting this, he's earned it for the great deal and for all of the flak he's received. I honestly don't know why there's been so much negativity about this deal - obviously you run the risk of getting a crap product when you buy from China (a few broken iPod knockoffs in my desk drawer will attest to that) but this is without a doubt the best piece of "no name" electronics I've ever purchased. |

very solid tablet for the price - had a chance to really get into today and try a few things out - hbogo and maxgo work great streaming movies - and Game of Thrones
![]() Got the Firefox app for the browser and Skype works just fine - just haven't figured out the audio not working while doing a video chat - but I remember seeing something about that issue on another page here. Graphics look great - and a very sleek design in my opinion - as you're holding it you can feel it get a little warm on the back after using for a bit - but nothing hot by any means - just slightly warm - it's fine. Camera works pretty good too - the video chat was working great - aside from the audio issues. Same as posted earlier too - the packaging was excellent - it really could float over here from China and be absolutely fine the way it's packaged - I wouldn't worry at all if the DHL guy leaves it out in the rain - trust me - it'll be just fine. Was also able to sync up firefox so it transferred all of my bookmarks, etc to the tablet with ease - same thing with Winamp too - very solid. Thanks again for the deal Evo - very nice man!!! Be careful putting the card in - you have to push pretty darn far before it clicks in. My nails aren't long enough, so I had to use the coated metal twist-tie that was wrapped around the headphones to help push... And, of course, the first time I did it my hand slipped and the SD card shot into the air! |
