Panasonic SR-MS103 5-Cup Rice Cooker $69.99 shipped
Newegg has the Panasonic SR-MS103 on sale for $69.99 shipped with coupon code EMCYTZT1990 which takes an extra $31 off the sale price that newegg and Amazon were already running on it. Pretty good reviews on both newegg and Amazon.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6896200397 Use chase ultimate rewards mall to get another 5% off at newegg if they let you qualify (though I think e-mail deals might not). For reference this is the Amazon page: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-S...B004SKTTD2 I was almost tempted to buy the slightly cheaper SR-DE103 used at Amazon Warehouse deals but the savings wasn't that much over a brand new unit and I wanted to get the MS103 instead since it has better slow cooking and keep-warm abilities (uses a lot less power in keep warm mode-probably has better insulation). Probably the best deal on what's basically a poor man's Neuro Fuzzy, I'm actually gonna replace my old Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy with this. I don't think you can come anywhere close to this price for an advanced rice cooker. The only time it's been cheaper than this was a year ago when it went for $58.99 and sold out within like 3 hours. Well I missed the 10 cup version (SR-MS183) of this about 2 weeks ago for $80.
I've been watching this one and the Zojirushis (Japan made) but they aren't budging in price. This looks like a good meet in the middle and will keep my wife happy. I hope 5 cups is enough. |

just grabbed one. i was gonna hold off for a Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5-1/2-Cup but I'm sure this will be a considerable improvement over the plastic microwave pot we've been using.
ran it thru e/b.a.t/e.s for 3% cashback. i'm really looking forward to using this device. ..if you don't have my money for me, I'll... crack your fcukin' head wide-open in front of everybody in the bank. And just about the time that I'm comin' out of jail, you'll be coming out of your coma. And guess what? I'll split your fcukin' head open again.

Been looking for a new rice cooker for my mom. Is this Non stick on the inside, none of the pictures show the inside? My mom's only looking for a stainless steel cooker with no Nonstick or Aluminum in it. She read on some websites that these things are bad. Anyone know of one that meets that criteria? Finding an advance rice cooker that isn't nonstick or aluminum is tough.

Yeah, I've also been watching Panasonic/Zojirushi rice cookers. Our black and decker rice cooker burns rice a bit on the bottom unless we turn it off just before it's ready, but it's so easy to forget about it that we almost always burn rice.
Does anyone know if you can bake bread in this rice cooker? Also do people find 5 cups capacity enough? We never make more than 2 cups of rice, however, I'm wondering if that's going to be enough if we would like to cook something fancier than plain rice, such as add various peas/veggies into rice and steam some chicken on top as well? Would 5 cup be big enough for making 2 cups of rice with veggies mixed inside and steam something on top? |

All you need is a pot, water, stove and rice. No need for fancy "fuzzy logic" appliance that costs arm and a leg. It is nothing more than a gimmick to make you feel ill-adequate or ill-equipped. Just take a trip to any Asian countries and see how millions and millions of people cook rice everyday, and how it comes out so predictably perfect every time, without using such fancy gizmos.
I REP FOR REAL DEALS.
