My Uncle was Airborne in Vietnam, he is in his 60's and jumps at least once/wk. (His brother is a pilot and owns a couple planes). He has been trying for 20+ years to get me to jump with him and I refuse to.
I am afraid of heights. Although last week I was at the state fair and I got on every ride there. (huge step for me) So maybe I will jump with him someday soon. |

I did the tandem here [skydivehollister.com]. It was incredibly calming and relaxing. One of my best memories is of feeling the clouds on my face. LOVED it. I did the AJ Hackett bungee in Vegas when it was open (video of some guy doing it here [youtube.com]). THAT was the biggest adrenaline rush ever. I was much more scared doing the bungee than the skydive. Also that same year I did the rapel/spelunk here [youtube.com], rapel starts at 2:30 spelunk 5:30. One of the most physically strenuous things I've done. If you can, go for it!

Static line jump. Just went the one time as it was a gift and I am a tight wad.
 Mine was 7+ hours of what to do if this, that, or the other went wrong. About 5 min of how to steer and 20 min of how to land. The jump was a great experience. Since it was a static line jump, I didn't really have the experience of free-falling. My trip was all floating. Never really felt as though I was falling, rather the earth was rising to meet me. 
Ugh, WISH I was shopping.

There are usually groupon deals for $75-80 for tandem sky diving....

Anyways I did it last Sunday. It was an amazing experience overall I would do it again if I have money to burn.
