Credit Cards offering free FICO scores?

I think I had an HSBC account that was 7 or 8 bucks back in the day. When I canceled they offered me 6 but I still passed on it.

All these credit scores you get from these services aren't real scores though. The only real scores come from myfico.com . All these credit services offer "FAKO" scores that just give you an idea.

I just use credit karma. I was sketched out a little bit about giving my personal info to a site I've never heard of, but I haven't had any trouble. It's free, and you can update your score every single day if you want to (although it won't really change). My creditkarma score and credit balances gets updated a couple of days after my credit card statements come out and will reflect it.

Do a google search on FICO vs FAKO and you'll learn a lot.

Thanks for the info, haven't been handling the bills, and after finding a nightmare of an issue now i have to go through everything with a fine tooth comb.

I've tried credit karma and credit sesame and they both seem to provide good info quickly. What do you use for actual credit reports?

The Walmart card does indeed give you a FICO (from Trans Union). Though the card essentially has no benefits other that that. Not really worth it in my eyes, but may be decent for someone who, for some reason, needs a TU FICO every single month.

I honestly don't even check my credit report too much. Karma lets me know when I get hard inquiries. I'm pretty on top of my balances, so that's not much of an issue either.

I have an AMEX blue that gives me 1 free credit report/score a year, so that's pretty much it for me. I'm not looking to make a large purchase in the very near future, so I'm not that into it, but I have a pretty good score on CK so I'm not worried about it too much.

Transunion has the highest of the big 3 (or two as I remember reading, Experian is no longer in it). When a lender is doing an inquiry for a loan though, I believe they go with the Equifax. It's a mystery though, no one really knows.

I guess it's not bad. It's a pretty useless store card though. No rewards, extremely high interest rate (22.9%), and it's a store card. GE Money bank doesn't get great reviews either.

If it were me and I really wanted to keep track of my credit, I'd just stick with Credit Karma, but I'd pay for a myfico every 3-4 months or so if I was getting ready to make a big purchase in the next year. That way you get basically the official FICO score without having to sign up for another worthless card.

...no. A lender will typically pull any one of the three major bureaus, and sometimes multiple. For larger lenders, the bureaus that they pull are well established and can be easily checked on various websites and forums. For smaller lenders, you'll likely be in the position to just ask them yourself.

2nd for Walmart card. you get a $20 credit right now (hey at least its something) and a FICO score that updates once a month (but you can force it anytime you want it to update). If you have reasonable enough credit you will be approved for the Walmart discover and you can use it anywhere. The store card you can just use at walmart and sams. They CLI every 6 months on a soft.

GEMB is awesome. You respect them they'll treat you well and they are very forgiving (in time) if you don't. They don't blacklist. Credit karma isn't bad for monitoring but the score is actually, legitimately useless

My Citi Dividend card offer the IdentityMonitor for $1 for the first month. Basically what it does is you can check your scores and credit reports from all 3 bureaus everyday.

Digital FCU gives you free FICO score every month just for being a member.
