good price on a great camera. i like the fast lens canon put on the s100 - its really very advanced point and shoot camera with and extra advantage of having a compact form factor.
It�s Nice To Be Important However Its A Lot More Important To Be Nice --My Better Half along with a select few including but not limited to brisar,deeds,YGS,redsolar,MOOT-N-ME,Finzz,persian_mafia,DJ3xclusive, & iconian helped remind me of this motto to live by

Not from Canon.

Good catch, dealstorm. That kinda kills the deal for me. I'll either wait for it to come down in price from an approved vendor or look for something else.

After using the RX100 for couple of weeks, S100 I used to have is so yesterday's tech and feels couple gen old.
Save your money for the RX100, it's that much better.

The S100 or the RX100 are either replacements (if you're tired of lugging around all of your gear) or complements to their (much) larger brethren. DSLRs are inexpensive enough that you can buy an older model for around the same price of the S100. |

IMHO...the camera to get is the Canon SX40 if you can find a good deal for it (good deal means < $300).
For point and shoot use your cell phone, why bother with a separate camera? The SX40 sits between a point and shoot and a full DSLR (hard to lug around all the time).... I think its in the sweet spot (can compliment your cell phone) and is very impressive pictures. |
