That looks like complete junk to me. LED does not have the lumens to project any kind of distance. I doubt that issue was solved with this cheap POS. You get what you pay for. For that price, I'd look for a decent used projector. There are plenty out there in this price range. Don't let bulb life scare you, I had an InFocus X1 that lasted over 7 years. Even then it still worked just was time to upgrade to 1080p.

What is your price range? I would look to DLP or LCD. Either is comparable. For your outdoor use, go with the highest lumen rating you can find. Here is a link to the "under $500 projectors". I think all projectors will display high definition, however, the low end is 600x800 which is s-video quality (DVD). They downgrade the signal to display. My advice is to spend a bit more and get a 720p projector. This is the low-end high definition and will give you a MUCH better picture than S-Video. HDMI is the best choice where available sine it greatly simplifies the connections. You will usually only find HDMI on Bluray though and not regular DVD since it is designed for High Definition. Also check for specials that include a spare bulb.

I like this one close to your price-range - http://www.projectorpeople.com/pr...ocus+IN112 InFocus has been around for a long time and their products are top notch. |

Whats your thought on yours vs this other one?

Yes, you can get 720p for that. I'd look for HDMI (must have), the higher the contrast the better. Higher lumens is better anything over 2000 would be fine. I like the Epsons.
here is one.... http://www.projectorpeople.com/pr...rLite+1221 The MX660P looks like a decent projector. It was on my short-list. Let me know how it performs when you get it! Last edited by dealgate; 08-10-2012 at 08:28 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

So far Im very impressed with this BenQ. I used it outside a couple of times shooting on the garage. Sat night we did one for the neighborhood and shot it up the garage door on the siding and everyone commented how they couldnt believe how good the picture quality was. Only thing I noticed is if you were on the side too far you could notice lines from the siding but you had to be more that 45 degrees to the side.
