When I work on my car for oil changes (taking off covers) or taking tires off, I use the impact driver only to losen the bolts out (for the tires, I use hand tool to losen it first, then use the impact driver to get the nut out), but not to tighten it. |

Would this set work for stuff around the house and small projects? Or will the power difference in the drill be that noticeable?

Seen alot of Hitatchi Refurbs on SD
I have been on and off construction job sites for the last 10 years or so, I do not ever recall seeing this brand being used by any of the trades...I would also beware...with all of these refurbs I have seen on sd there may be some kind of design flaw IMHO |

All reconditioned products on this website are Grade A unless otherwise noted in their name. Grade A tools look almost new. There may only be slight cosmetic blemishes. Grade C reconditioned tools look used, but have been through the same reconditioning process and come with the same warranty. We cannot guarantee that every tool will be similar in appearance but we do make a decision based on appearance if the tool is worth reconditioning." Thanks for the reply +4 rep,but I read that too. I was hoping someone here had actually bought some grade C tools. "Never argue with a fool. They drag you down to their level, then they beat you with experience." |

not sure what people get giddy about, recon tools such as this come with 'used' batteries, not new. My recon Hitachi batteries went out right after the short warranty was over. Bought the Bosch special from Amazon with 4 batteries-yes more- and am a happy man since.
Do not allow your wallet & greed to blur reality. Junk is still junk regardless of price.

I bought a grade C 12v drill and driver from them last year. Didn't expect to use them so much but they are extremely convenient. I still love my big Milwaukee but it gets much less use than before.
The cases and tool bodies had obvious marks from use but behave like new. I think the batteries were new. One of the four included batteries wouldn't charge. BigSky shipped me another still in the blister-pack, quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. |
