My personal impact driver still works like new. I have a Hitachi Chop saw that is about 3 years old. No problems with that. Not sure about the routers

I bought a 12V li-ion Craftman impact driver and drill bundle from Sears back couple months. I find myself using the drill most times at home for Ikea stuff and walls because the impact drill is too strong and lacks any precision. I'm afraid it might strip the screws or screw in at a wrong angle. My impact driver doesn't have torque control or delicate speed control while the drill has all those.

When I work on my car for oil changes (taking off covers) or taking tires off, I use the impact driver only to losen the bolts out (for the tires, I use hand tool to losen it first, then use the impact driver to get the nut out), but not to tighten it.

Would this set work for stuff around the house and small projects? Or will the power difference in the drill be that noticeable?

I bought lots of refurb stuff, that was like new, but I haven't bought refurb grade C items before.
How would this compare to new?

1 would cost $65.60 + $7 = $72.6 each
5 would cost ~ $65 each shipped
so bought 5

I have been on and off construction job sites for the last 10 years or so, I do not ever recall seeing this brand being used by any of the trades...

I would also beware...with all of these refurbs I have seen on sd there may be some kind of design flaw IMHO

Thanks OP - bit on an impact driver and drill for myself and another impact driver for a gift

not sure what people get giddy about, recon tools such as this come with 'used' batteries, not new. My recon Hitachi batteries went out right after the short warranty was over. Bought the Bosch special from Amazon with 4 batteries-yes more- and am a happy man since.

How did this deal go FP, and why is it listed as being from big fly sports?

anyone bought reconditioned Grade C stuff?

seems scary on the batteries dying out soon.
