DayZ

maybe one of the GL'ers can help me, I keep trying to play DayZ but I get stuck after joining a server at the Loading scree. Any ideas?

I have decided to wait for the standalone game. I have too much other stuff going on right now to warrant purchasing a game for a mod.

I grabbed the Arma 2 CO deal from Gamefly over the weekend and started playing some Day-Z. I am really surprised at how much fun it is. I found the youtube videos to appear boring, but I was able to reach some towns over the weekend and find some guns/loot and kill some zombies. Very fun! Every human player I came across killed me though LOL, I was trying to make friends and they all would gun me down, so when I play next "no more Mr. Nice Guy"

seriously though guys, I have the Steam version. Ran the six launcher, updater, etc. Still get stuck at the loading after i join a team or w/e. Any input?

Make sure your Arma 2 version is 1.11 and CO is 1.60. Also, try running DayZ Commander and clicking on "Versions" in the upper right, this will tell you if your patches are up to date.

the launcher just updated the game for me today and it works fine now.

There was an update recently and the game appear to be more stable.

Has anyone encountered any interesting situations?

I first read about this game about a month ago, and I'm really excited about it. Now that the standalone is confirmed (and hopefully dropping soon), I'm going to hold out for it. Thanks for the in-game stories OP, just gets me more excited for this game!

Got back into playing with friends recently and the game has been very stable and the loading has gotten significantly better.

If anyone is still playing or may want to get back into it, you can try the Madness servers if you are in the United States.
