I considered this TV for the longest time. I tried to get it on clearance at Target earlier this year but it never dropped below $500 at my local store.

I ended up going with the Panasonic Viera TC-L42ET5 during the Amazon Gold Box Deal. A little more expensive, but after using some Discover Casback Credit and no tax, it works out to about the same or less for me.

A word to those seriously consider this TV, check your local Wal-Mart first. Mine has this model for $498. It's a "rollback" permanent price, I asked.

Looks really great in store. A little bulkier than average, as the speakers hang down, but that might give you better sound quality.

It is a great TV. I paid the MSRP of $650 cause I loved it! It has everything you need, WiFi, 3D, 120HZ, Vizio Internet Apps, and a good picture.

There are some quirks to the tv, the onboard processor is rather weak, there is a delay between pressing a button and the input being recognized WHEN TYPING, this DOES NOT occur during changing channels.

The apps are in but the layout is a bit drab. It has Netflix and a couple popular apps, but doesn't have Hulu Plus out of the box? Had to download it... It also has a few games for a couple of dollars, not sure how they will work.

The 3D is phenomenal on this TV. If you have an Xbox or PS3, the tv is read for SBS, TB, and the auto-detect. I can play COD: Black OPS, Assassin's Creed Revelations and a ton of other games IN 3D! The depth is there but it does start to hurt your eyes after about an hour, although I have no problems with active 3d.

A main reason I bought this TV is the fact that 3D glasses are dirt cheap. I recently got 6 glass like clip-ons, metallic frame, children, and tons of different models and sizes.

From a retail standpoint, the Panasonic is around $1,000, while the Vizio sits at around $700. Granted, that doesn't say much of anything in the long run.

In short, it was really just a personal preference thing. I was always really hesitant about the Vizio, but for some reason, I was sold on the Panasonic right away.
