The pig should have his balls cut off. Obviously he was trying to get run over, then scratched the A-rabs car. With that said Mr Oil rig could use a good beat down.

Just out of curiousity, if this guy wasn't a cop, and just an admirer of Ferrari's, would it change anyone's opinion?

I don't consider the cop to be in front of the car; watch his knees drop forward at 18 seconds in. Without that move, he wouldn't have been in contact with the car at all. Additionally, if you look at the video at around 26 seconds it appears all the driver is doing is straightening out the wheels. From the angle we can see, it doesn't look like he tried to move forward again at all; my current theory is that the edge of the tire moved over the cop's foot when it was straightened out. That's when the cop goes apeshit. Is the driver a d-bag? Surely. Did he assault an officer? Not from what I saw. |

What if he didn't have all the information he needed?

Here's my take on it. What a lot of people don't think about it that cops have training from giving out traffic tickets to drawing their weapon and subduing a suspect, lethally if need be.
As a cop, when do you know when a traffic stop is going to escalate to a lethal situation? Well unless you are Officer Dionne Warwick, I don't think you would know. So they SHOULD approach any and every situation as a lethal encounter. So if someone is going to attempt any type of uncooperative behavior, you should expect a swift and immediate response; most likely not in your favor. That said; they also need to be able to dial it down just as quickly when the situation is under control. Personally I believe the Ferrari guy got a lesson in respect. He/you may not like cops and the way they conduct business, but again civilians don't have that pressure of having to react to a given situation with lethal force.

It does not matter if the ticket is fully written yet. But even if he didn't have the license plate written down, which I find really really hard to swallow, it's a parking violation for crying out loud, it's not a crime, much less a violent crime. Stepping in front of a car and putting yourself in potential harms way is ridiculously stupid and cocky, considering it's just a parking violation.
This cop was looking for, and IMO manufacturing, a reason to become unreasonable. This cop is clearly on a short fuse and has some sort of power trip. He should not be on active street duty, as IMO someone is very likely to get unnecessarily badly hurt one day, possibly the idiot cop himself. |

Reports are the owner of the car already attempted to disrupt the writing of the ticket and was told to stand on the sidewalk; as well as being told not to get into the car. WTF is the claim about a power trip? Because he's writing a ticket and some a-hole tries to drive off? Good lord, some of the anti-police stuff is just too much. Some dumbass tries to drive off while ignoring the officer standing in front of the car, and the officer is the bad guy.

This cop clearly and intentionally put his foot under the tire in order to manufacture a reason to snap like a basket case. Not sure if you saw the same video I did but the cop was clearly out of control. He's definitely got some power trip issues. I know you don't see it the same way I do and it's OK for us to agree to disagree. One thing is for sure, I would not use this video to train future cops on what to do in this situation. No intelligent cop would instruct a cop to do what this barnacle did. |

The owner of the Ferrari escalated the incident and bought himself his arrest and charges of felony assault, vehicular assault, obstructing governmental administration, and disorderly conduct. He should have obeyed the officer and accepted his parking ticket and left, but he did not, and ultimately he received what he deserved.

That cop was some actor though, pretending to be hurt and all. I especially like how he was so concerned for his safety that as he was opening the car door he was still holding his ticket book and put his pen away in his pocket, and then took the time to set the ticket book on top of the car. Sorry but if your concerned for your safety to the point where you have to obnoxiously drag someone out of the car and throw them to the ground, your not going to take your sweet ass time putting your pen away and setting down your ticket book.
If his force was justified then he should have just dropped his pen and ticket book where he stood. He should also be forced to go to acting school, because that act he did for the camera was beyond pathetic.
That still doesn't give the cop a pass.
There's good cops and bad cops, and IMO this is a bad one. I'm not like some others around here who will bad mouth all cops because of the actions of a few idiot cops. Edit: I especially like how the cops car doors say Courtesy, Professionalism, Respect. That's definitely not what happened here. Granted the car owner wasn't exactly any of those things either but his actions don't excuse the cops actions IMO. Last edited by hsjpatman; 08-08-2012 at 10:46 AM.. |

Some persons here apparently have an immense anti LEO bias and they can only view these issues through that bias, not understanding the realities of these and similar incidents, but only with a false understanding of the way they think things should be.
