Old as dirt, no HDMI, power hungry, and no DX 11 support...
..but one of the most powerful cards ever made for cheap, with no rebates. I've never felt so conflicted before. +1 for subby.http://www.videocardbe Last edited by CheetahMk2; 08-07-2012 at 07:36 PM.. |

I bought 3 visiontek 4870x2 cards and ALL of them overheated within 1 week and started artifacting extremely powerful if you can cool it though, even by today's standards |

I have the 1gb sapphire model of this card, never had any problems running things on high settings.
Planning to grab a 7950 whenever a decent deal comes along on one for the dx11 and power savings at idle. The card has worked great the entire time I have had it. |

![]() But if I had just had my main GPU die, or was stuck on something like a student budget - I probably would get one to tide me over... Klaatu: I'm impatient with stupidity. My people have learned to live without it.

A killer deal. Erase the model number, erase the perceptions about age. You can not get that performance from any card today for $40, period. But it needs at least 1 gig of memory to support the higher resolutions. Youll definitely feel the lacking there. Bot for 1680 x 1050 and lower, you cant lose. Sad that its OOS
![]() Still rocking a 4850 1gb, and runs cool like a cucumber even in these hot humid NY summers
