For QB payroll activation when you submit the order after entering EIN and other company information, it takes you to the confirmation screen where it displays the PSK (needed for rebate) and also lists down some next steps

1) Print this page
2) Make sure you have supported version of QB software on your machine
3) Enter PSK in Qucikbooks to unlock subscription and start using payroll

Is STEP3 of unlocking subscription needed to be completed for meeting activation guidelines of rebates
I have never done this rebate in the past years and don't want to loose 200$ if Intuit comes back saying you got the PSK but never unlocked the subscription which is installing the software and unlocking it using PSK

Please provide your experience from the past

Edit: I cancelled my order as it was not shipped. I'll keep my eyes open for QB SS next time around.

I have a $10 off $30 Office Max coupon (official one sent to me in the mail) expiring sometime in September. Could one of the experts confirm the following:

- If I use this $10 competitor's coupon at Staples on a $30 purchase, Staples will most likely manually adjust the prices on 1 or more items to take off $10, and if any of the adjusted items is a rebate item I will get a smaller rebate (as most are now "up to" rebates) effectively wasting the coupon on those items?

- If I use this $10 off $30 coupon at Office Max on free after Rewards items, I will only get back the after-coupon price in Rewards effectively wasting the coupon on those items?

In other words, I need to find non-rebate, non-Rewards items at either store to not waste the coupon? Thanks.

I just installed QB Simple Start (Not the online one) and registered it, but still haven't get any email confirmation yet. Where I can find my Company ID?

I had a very interesting trip to Staples today.

I never ordered from the kiosk before but had to since the store doesn't carry the Crucial M4 SSD. I got done with my order when a nice asian man and his 6yr old girl approach asking about ordering things at the kiosk. Then he offers me a $5 off 25 coupon and also tries to help me get a MP4 player for free. I let him order his stuff before I reorder my SSD with the MP4 player. Tried to get the MP4 player for free too but it was one time use coupon. So I went to the front of the store and got a business supplies brochure and ended up getting a free bag set instead with my reorder. Found out that if you order something at the kiosk and you dont check out with the paperwork, it gets canceled at the end of the day. Interesting. Anyway, thanks asian man and little girl for teaching me how to get additional free stuff with order. Hope you enjoy your little music player little girl.

Anyhow, I wanted to share my deal b/c it's a bit complicated but I think I scored a good deal on my SSD. Remember next week there's a 20% off coupon from OM that you can use at Staples and it might apply to all instead of just the highest priced item.

Since most of my stuff was bascially free ($1) after rebate, coupon and % back, I think I got my 128 SSD for about $82 ($42 if you consider the $40 ink rewards was basically free money each month.)

Unless the kiosk ordering procedures have changed recently, kiosk orders remain in the system for 48 hrs. In the past, I have placed kiosk orders on a Saturday with that week's sale prices and then paid for the order plus some in-store items -- with an in-store coupon of course -- with that week's sales prices on Sunday or Monday.

Kiosk orders are not a definite reserve system. Your order is not "technically" guaranteed.
I've had orders become cancelled and had corporate mail me a check for the amount I paid because they ran out of stock and was unable to completely fulfill my order.

Good point. I did know that but its a risk I am willing to take and the odds of one week's sale item going out of stock late from late Saturday orders if it is also not onsale for the next week.

They do try to fulfill as much of the order as possible (delayed shipping from further warehouses via UPS ground, not next day), but I don't mind that sometimes.

I'm confused... does the quickbooks rebate need to be activated by the 18th? Or does it just need to be purchased by the 18th? If anyone could clear that up for me I'd appreciate it.
