Rarely I've had to reset/powercycle the unit due to loss of connectivity to the mysqueezebox.com server, but since I've started using a local server I haven't had an issue, so I assume the issues were related to internet connectivity or mysqueezebox.com issues. |

What are some use cases for the squeezebox / how do you guys use yours? I want one for the bathroom, but also wondering if it works without a WiFi connection (can I attach an iPhone to it?).

I have a Squeezebox Boom in the bedroom and a Squeezebox Touch in the living room. The Boom also works great as an alarm clock. I run the Logitech Media Server on my ReadyNAS Duo. Works great. Sound quality is shockingly good. And whole-house syncing works perfectly. And with so many add-ons, you can tweak the behavior/features of almost everything.

I had an open box that lasted 7-8 months. Sound is pretty good for a small box. Connectivity was an issue at times, but it was usually when the unit was starting up. My unit for some reason would not power on one day. I used a new adapter and still had the same problem. If I hold the power button, it comes on, but I cannot get past the menu screen. Since its an open box, there is no warranty.
Tried Gracie Audio Mondo--that thing is not as smooth as the Squeezebox. My suggestion: buy the Squeezebox new and not openbox. |
