Sony VAIO T Series SVT13112FXS Ultrabook $570.60 Overnight Shipped After GC/Rebate

Deal is dead but for those of you that missed it consider yourselves lucky as Vaio laptops are lame anyway. I have owned two different Vaio models and both, while beautiful, ultimately suffered from intense heat and subsequent fan issues. Never again Sony!

Walmart has similar deal with $100 eGift Card valid only at Walmart.com. Price of laptop is $798 to start and the same $100 rebate applies. Deal killer for me is $42 sales tax for MD. Does Walmart charge sales tax in all states? Without sales tax, Walmart deal costs about $30 more.

hi does anyone know how to get the 100 GC?
I want to order it but everytime I came to the payment page I could see $100 was substracted from my list.

Is this offer dead? I couldn't seem to get the $100 Amazon GC to add during checkout. (I went all the way to the "click to purchase" section and it never came up.

I took a chance on this because Amazon has never shipped anything as late as they have indicated when I got a deal. I've bought things that said 1 to 2 months, and they usually ship them within a week. So, with the Sony rebate forms being required within 30 days, this one kind of scares me a little bit. There are plenty of other online sites/vendors that say they have them in stock, and I thought most of this stuff comes out of Ingram Micro warehouses, etc., but maybe it doesn't work that way anymore (especially for Amazon). Has anyone had their's ship yet??? Thanks

This comes out to about $638 after taxes.

You could also get the Vaio SVT13114GXS which is the same computer only with Windows 7 Pro. More expensive but is eligible for the $150 rebate. If you purchase from Newegg, they also throw in an additional 1 yr notebook plan ($60 value).

On top of it...if you're an American Airlines frequent flyer mile collector...if you go to newegg through the american airlines eshopping site, you get 4 miles per dollar spent so you get about 3200 miles (you pay $816 at checkout).

So final deal I ended up with:
Vaio SVT13114GXS with Windows 7 Pro: $666 after rebate
1yr additional notebook protection plan: $60 value
3200 AA miles.

Just received an email from Amazon that they will be shipping my laptop on Aug 20th instead of September 5th...!! Good luck to all those who went ahead with the deal to get the rebate from Sony trusting Amazon's shipping.

That's great news. Mine changed (because they did ship part of my order), but when I contacted Amazon, they are still saying September. The frustrating part is that now they are fulfilling on behalf of other sellers, meaning, they are in the Amazon warehouse. I tried that angle as well as the angle that I would pay the $45.99 extra for the same model with Win 7 PRO (it qualifies for the $150 rebate) and they said nope (unless of course I wanted to lose the Amazon gift card they already sent me). Oh well, this sounds like good news from the others, and because of my inquiry today, they did upgrade me to free overnight shipping, so hopefully it will ship soon. Thanks

I didn't order anything else with this so they are saying the laptop will be delivered by 21st.
