 Must see places/do things in Chicago, IL in August? wife and I are going to Chicago, IL next week-end so I wanted to check and see what my fellow SD-ers would recommend do/see there. Thanks and reps in advance. Here is what I got so far - missing anything?

I love the art institute field museum, and museum of science and industry.
The botanic gardens are good, but out in the burbs. |

The pier sucks on weekends. They say the view is better from the Hancock building. I haven't been up in either yet.
Love the museum and want to go to the aquarium and zoo. They're on my to do list. I have a 6 year old though so I do kids activities. |

Wherever you can get one, have an Italian Roast Beef sandwich, "wet, with sport peppers".

my wife and i included about half of your list in our trip last fall, and Shedd was probably the most fun/memorable. we both ran down the batteries on our phones/cameras taking pics and videos of all the cool stuff. we must have gone off-season for Navy Pier; it was basically dead, and we kind of regretted going. |

Just walk around down town and get some good deep dish pizza. Dont pack too much stuff into a weekend....maybe go to a baseball game.

Bourdain went to Burt's Place for pizza on No Reservations, I'd try to hit that up, it looks amazing. It's about 15 miles north of downtown, you take the 94 W.
I'm losing money if I don't buy it.
