Foscam FI8910W Wireless IP Camera, Black #FI8910W-BLACK - $75 w/ FS

As far as I can tell this model Foscam is available and ready to be ordered from Foscam, nothing misleading here.

I hate these cameras.

We got two and set them up in our windows to watch outside. We had to call tech services (tech service is the only good thing I have to say about this company and their cameras and really it isn't THAT great) to get them to help us, because one of the cameras was coming in and out on our IP address screen. We had to argue with the guy and call back twice because he said "it is your internet connection that is causing that camera to go in and out." And our response was, "Why is one of the cameras working perfectly and the other is not if it's our internet connection?" He was insistent so we went through hanging up and calling back to talk to him to tell him his "solutions" were not fixing the camera. He finally agreed to replace it after 2 hours of bugging the crap out of him.

Also, the only reason we bought this camera is because the amazon reviews were awesome. Well, it turns out that when you call tech services for help, they do a remote take over on your computer if you let them and then after they are done 'helping' you.... They ask you if you have an amazon account, make you sign in on the spot and wait and watch while you write them a good review. It was VERY awkward and it all made sense after that as to why their reviews were so great.

After we hung up with the guy, the damn thing stopped recording like it was supposed to and the camera resets itself all the time. We did get the new camera in the mail, but we tossed in the corner and haven't bothered to install it because it's not even worth it.

I have been using that for 5-6 years now. Never a charge, but they must detect an update from your device. I have a dd-wrt router that does that automatically. If for some reason it does not detect an update, they will email you with a reminder and a clickable link to renew the "lease".

There is nothing wrong with these camera. They are better than the FI8918W. Yes they are better and clearer too. Better than D-link, Treadnet and Linksys webcam that I have play with.

If the outdoor is too bright, did you put it on OUTDOOR setting?

My webcam never goes in and out on wireless. Did you check for wireless interference from your wireless home phone? Try other channel. Is it something wrong with your router?

Dont call anybody for help man. All tech support are bad! This include ATT, BofA, etc Go to the forum and post your questions and somebody will be able to help.

Wow that is pretty shady! I would have told them to screw off sitting there waiting/watching me type a review. LOL, no thanks buddy. As someone else pointed out, their technical support forums are actually pretty good. Some very knowledgeable folks there for sure. One gentlemen named Don has helped me before and has many posts and info on the forums. We had Ralph on the phone, and he did fix our cameras and set everything up really quickly and nicely for us, but when it came down the actual cameras (like- the minute we got off the phone), they just were just not up to par for us.

I will check out the forums though. Two or so hours on the phone the first time is the only reason we haven't called back to fix the recording problems. We bought the cameras, we might as well try to make them work and stay working. lol.

I urge those who are looking to purchase the foscam to research about their wireless problems. I have the FI8910W for a year now and it can no longer stay connected to the internet for more than a few hours. Not sure why but it seems to be hardware related. Unlike other wireless devices, the foscam camera does not reconnect to the router if it loses signal. The only remedy is to unplug the power wire and reconnect it. Some people have suggested to use static IP addresses, limit the router to G only, and using different wireless channel but I have tried all with no avail.

it could also be a problem with the router. I also had difficulty with mine because the foscam would randomly drop and lose signal and i thought power cycling everything would do the trick. It turns out the firmware on my router was just whacky. I updated my firmware to ddwrt and the foscam works flawlessly.
