Well finally got my points, total is just under 36,000 points. Started looking around for airline tickets from NYC to LA. I kept looking at the brochure saying 20,000 points = up to $400 ticket value and 30,000 points = up to $600 ticket value. The key word in there is "up to" I was hoping my points would be enough for two tickets. I priced the tickets on kayak and it came out to $281. But these points are not pro-rated. When I go back to travelocity to view the deal it came back saying 20,000 points for 1 ticket. I guess it doesn't matter whether the ticket is $399 or $180 it will still cost 20,000 points for 1 ticket. So to get the best "deal" the airfare would have to be just under $400, which obviously limits my choices.
So I redirect my dreams to Hawaii. And the lowest fare from JFK to Honolulu is $405 ! Any ideas on how to best use my flexperks points? Last edited by mister2; 01-12-2013 at 11:17 AM.. |

FYI anyone who applied for Flex Perk Signature and was sent the the lesser one, and then later told they did not qualify for the bonus. I disputed this with the BBB as I was told on the phone when I activated it and in an email my lesser card did qualify for the Olympic program. When it came time to receive my points they told me my card did not qualify as it was not the "Travel Rewards" signature. Obviously YMMV but it's worth a shot if they tried to screw you out of 30k points.
