Damn, that's shady. Amazon lists them as 7200. I guess it doesn't matter if you are just using it externally, but this makes me not want to do any more business with Iomega.

Got 1 TB for ~ $42 ($46.50 - 10% discount coupon) and a 2 TB version of the same for ~ $80 ($88.50 - 10% discount coupon). Could not combine the 10% discount coupon w/ the $5 coupon. I think this is a decent deal. Thanks OP.

Both of the drives are Samsung 5400 rpm ones and were manufactured in China in Dec/Jan 2011. I was hoping to get the 7200 rpm Hitachi, but no luck there. Oh well, these will be used for infrequent backups, so not a deal breaker for me.

got this for 37 dollars with the 20% off coupon. I had struck out on a MyBook 2TB, but this is a nice consolation. Thanks op and repped
