yes it is a possibility considering his feedback and such, however, i have PayPal Buyer Protection so I can take that chance.

I removed the drive from the case to upgrade my mac mini, took a shot of the internals. There are a few tabs holding the top case open, I gently inserted a screw driver and twisted. If the orange side is down and the USB connector is facing you, start with the flat head screw driver on the right hand side since the tabs are closer to the side there.

Some guy in Dallas off craigslist sold this same exact model to me for $70

He had like 10 of them for those of you guys in the DFW area. It's worked out great, although I'll need to format it to FAT32 if I want to play it on my PS3. I may just go the media server route though

I didnt even realize that Toshiba made drives... Any comments on the durability/warranty of the drive?

No on off switch.

Picked one up at my local Walmart. Decent deal for a portable drive. If your computer doesn't autorun USB devices (which should be turned off for security anyway) the Toshiba 'auto backup' utility wont start anyway.

I have the same question.. Not just Toshiba, Samsung has made quality SSDs too.

Any idea if the drive is thicker than a regular laptop hard disk drive? From the picture, it looks like the drive goes pretty much right up against the sides of the casing, which means it could possibly be the 12.5,m drive since the casing according to Toshiba is 14.5mm thick.

Can you put this inside a PS3? I have a 25 off 75 for Staples, and after tax and shipping and all, it will be $70 shipped for one of these.
