Lifting Cover For Gaining Access To Page Output & Toner On SCX-3405FW Samsung Laser Printer
I recently purchased a Samsung Laser Printer and before adjusting the toner cartridge in its rightful place I had to open the main cover of the Printer. When I opened the main cover, the cover sprung open hard (in a spring-like fashion). The whole printer shook; I was afraid I must have messed up some mechanical part of the printer. This is my first laser printer. Is this experience normal? Is this how the printer cover is suppose to open? I would greatly appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

Always post the model number instead of just the brand. Each brand/company has many printer products.

SCX-3405FW
Below the Samsung Logo you lift the cover to gain access to the Paper output tray (usually in case of a Jam or when replacing Toner). There seems to be a Spring-Like opening Mechanism. Is it safe and normal if the covers opens with full force? I'm a bit concerned about the mechanical parts within the printer. Please let me know, thanks |

@3:20 you hear a click; are these printers made to withstand a forceful opening?

well, when you first open it, the cover pops out fast and you can see @3:20 when he opens the cover all the way with the hinge preventing it open any further. Is this hinge durably made to withstand a person that opens the cover for the first time with full force? I don't feel it closes smoothly; I don't know if that has to do with plastic pieces that surround the hinge. Please let me know, thanks.
