Best Camera Suggestions - have budget HELP?

Good Day,

So I wanna get a camera for my dad - got a $100-$150 budget - might sound cheap but I already spend over 1 grand on my parents... and that's all I have left

So... question is - what is the very best camera I can buy for my budget pricing - amazon, wal-mart, whatever online/offline vendor there is out there. I also have a billing and shipping address in both the US and Canada.

Would seriouslly appreciate any help I can get!

The HS 100 is much better,faster, and shoot better indoor photo for less money.

One last question - on Amazon it is saying that the Canon PowerShot A4000 is the "newer" model of the HS 100 - yet it's got much worse reviews. The stats look a little better (except for the video recording). It is 10 bucks more expensive... so any good or just stick with the HS 100

Well actually I do plan on utilizing staples - price match with amazon then use the 25 of 100 coupon... unfortunately those coupons aren't for instore purchases but for online purchases. Don't have the coupon yet - will probably buy one later from ebay or something

Question - I found both the Sony and Canon brand new for the same price... which one to choose?

EDITING: The sony camera uses a Memory Stick Duo for the memory card type... honestly I'm not verey familiar with that... that's not an SD Card? Looks like they are a bit pricier (which is fine I guess). Is this a downfall?

Sony uses there own proprietary memory card.. It sucks, you can't use others cards and they can't use yours. You pay more then they become unusable in the future if you happen to buy a non-sony.
