That's a really sh***y situation the rep did there. That shouldn't be how it works at all. If anyone of you guys need help getting set up or have any questions, I am more than happy to help. But as far as existing orders go, there isn't much I can personally do. Frown
AT&T is the king of the nickel-and-dime-you-to-death company. If they can make it impossibly difficult to do promos, give you what they promised, or incur small charges for stupid things then they will do it.

I remember when I was saying I would switch to Verizon wireless and AT&T simply said "fine, we'll port your number". Didn't even try to keep me as a customer. They would rather tell you to eff off than deal with you.

It honestly depends on the rep you get. Hate to say it, but that's how all customer service is nowadays. Frown

well I finally got a hold of some1 and my triple play bill got adjusted down to 168+ tax. That is with 4 receivers, u450 tv, 12mbit internet, and 250 minute phone. I was paying more when I initially signed up and was paying a lot more when my initial promos expired. So for me this was good. Thanks

That's really good for the U450 triple play. Congrats! Smilie

For any of you already on U-Verse and looking to handle retention's easily, their 'Social Media Team' is much easier to work with than calling customer service. I started out with a PM to Alex on their community forum and ended up with an email conversation with their Social Media Team:

ATTCustomercare@att.com

I have U300 + 18 Mbps internet. Total home dvr + 1 receiver. My previous 6 month promo's ran out (was $105 a month or something close to that). The guy I was emailing gave me his direct number (I don't have much time to be calling people), so I called him on the way home from work yesterday. Was off the phone in 10 minutes and he added 3 different promos to my account. I am good for another year now:

U300 Uverse TV $87 - $28 1 yr 08/16/2012 - 08/16/2013 = $59
Uverse TV addt'l receiver $7 no promo = $7
Uverse HD fee $10 no promo = $10
Uverse HSIA 18 $53 - $16 1 yr 08/16/2012 - 08/16/2013 = $37
Uverse HSIA equp fee $6 - $6 indefinite = $0.00

Total: $113/month
Thanks TWG2012 & gregcool. I used the email approach and got similar or even slightly better results than you. I closed the deal by phone, but the CSR contacted me, avoiding the hassle of the typical phone service. I too am good for another year, and perhaps even better, I have a direct email contact for a year from now.

Let's see who can top this one! haha!
It turns out I topped my own deal. Since U300 includes an extra receiver, all my receivers are covered and I still got the $84 credit up front. My revised bill, as itemized by AT&T, is:

U300 Uverse TV $87 - $38 1 yr 08/27/2012 - 08/27/2013 = $49 (includes DVR + 2nd receiver)
Uverse TV 3rd receiver $7 -$7 = $0
Uverse HD fee $10 no promo = $10
Uverse HSIA 12 $48 - $15 1 yr 08/27/2012 - 08/27/2013 = $33
Uverse Voice Unlim $35 - $5 = $30

Total: $122/month

I also got a one-time credit of $150 plus an additional $84 to cover the 3rd receiver for the next year ($234 total). I had been paying $145 for the same except U200 ($8 less) for the past year before my previous promotions expired, and that had ballooned to $179 w/o promotions. Final bill with taxes and fees is ~$9-10 more.

I'm happy for another 12 months. Complaining firmly but nicely as a long-time AT&T customer pays off.

Just want to say Thank you, was considering switching back to TW. However I was able to cut my bill to $114, with essentially the same as above. This saves me $26 a month and extra receiver, 18mbps instead of 12, and U300 instead of U200.

I will also compliment the CustomerCare rep Kenneth whom spent 40 min explaining my options and promos. This is one area I think AT&T excels in.

Thanks for the email address information. I spoke with a rep through there who was much more helpful than one I spoke with when I tried calling. I was able to get $38 off my bill for the next 12 months, with no contract required. Sounds like a great deal, but all my promotions just ended last week, so I'm probably back to square one again. I've got U200, 18mb internet, HD service, an additional receiver, and the HD Tier ($5 add-on) for $105. Good enough for me - Thanks!

Hi. I'm an existing customer in northern CA. Do I email ATTCustomercare@att.com from my att email account? And what do I ask in my email?

Here's what I currently have:
u200 + hd fee: $82 (I only have 1 DVR.)
internet max turbo: $63
voice unlimited: $35

After calling Retentions, this is the best they could offer me:

reqs 1 year commitment:
$26 off u200
$10 off internet
$5 off phone

In other words, my monthly bill would be $139 (+ tax) for 1 year.

They also offered a 1-time courtesy credit of $50.

Anyone know if I should be able to get it down further?

That's pretty solid. It can never hurt to call back in again and see what can be done! Smilie

Has anyone received the rewards cards yet? I see twg2012 actually deleted the original offer last month where he had mentioned that the cash back is $300 no wireless needed etc. Now the att customer service says i dont qualify for $300 but for $100 .. Which is not what i was told and i have in my emails too .. But they are reluctant..this is exactly what i was afraid of going to att with their ridiculous customer service and bait n switch sales tactics.. Now i have to see how long it takes for them to remove the discounts from my account. I have stayed away from them for 8 yrs and decided to give them a try and they have hardly changed.

FWIW:

Several years ago, I was able to sign up with U-verse when they had a package that contained $400 in gift cards. I forgot the exact time requirements, but I think I was supposed to receive the gift cards after something like 4 or 6 months of service.

Once I was finally eligible for the gift cards, I didn't receive them. What a surprise. Then, I called up Customer Service, and they told me they never heard of such an offer. They sent me to a different department, who also said they don't have records of such an offer. Long story short, I was finally put in touch with someone who would review the screenshots I took of the offer. It then took another 4 or 5 months for the @#%!@ gift cards to trickle in (via postal mail). I eventually received the $400 in gift cards, but this experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

So when you guys are emailing ATTCustomercare@att.com what are you typing in the email. I had U verse tv and internet awhile ago but now only have the Max internet for $38/month, and would like to get a good deal on adding hd tv back on. Thanks
