Guys, I need some advice. I was looking for a good deal on a laptop around $500. I actually bought Staples HP Pavilion dv6-7010us with all the rebates, so basically for $400.

Then I saw hp dv7-4269wm for $450, marked down from $850. Looks like a last years model and marked down few times. I snagged it because it was no tax weekend here in GA for school supplies, and laptop comes under it. Please help decide whether it is a good deal or not.

A refurb, HP, 1st-gen i5? I wouldn't bother. If this deal is any indication, you should be able to do better. It may take some time though.

It is not a refurb. I just gave that link for the specs. I bought brand new in Walmart. Is it a 2nd Gen i5?

Ahh, ok. The i5-480M is definitely a 1st-gen one though. This post should help you differentiate between the different generations.

I'm also not the biggest fan of HP. The only thing worse than their build quality is their customer service (more like lack thereof). Just my 2 cents though.
