BOX.COM now offering free desktop sync for personal use?
Deal DetailsLast Edited by widgit August 11, 2012 at 05:51 AM
I just found that Box.com let me download their free desktop sync app for windows 7 and I can able to sync files. Also, as you know, if you already activated your free 50 GB storage then I believe this is pretty exciting. I tried to find any post related to this or may be you guys already aware of this? Anyway let me know if it is only me seeing this offer.
To get the sync app, after login into Box.com (https://www.box.com/) go to "My Account" tab on the top and then select "Get BOX Sync". The app should be start downloading into your PC.
Here is what I am seeing in my free account.
When I signed up for a new account, I had the sync option right away. Lets hope they add the sync to the rest of the 50gb accounts at some point.
I created a new free Personal account and the option was available to me immediately. It looks like the rollout is gradual with access given only to certain accounts.
Box Sync for Windows
For Business and Enterprise accounts only....
Update by SHOWTIME07:
For those who don't yet have sync, you can try to email them asking that they enable it for you. Yeah, I know, I probably just crashed their servers with the Slickdeals effect.
Update by Soulstrength:
Check your email a couple of days after logging in on Box.com if you were unable to register for Box Sync. You may receive an offer in a couple of days. YMMV.

Box sync is being rolled out in waves by our system for current users which is why you might not have it yet. However, I was able to manually enable sync for you. You should be able to download sync now and get started.
I hope this helps.
