Just FYI for those unfamiliar with the fleece weight ratings & TNF jackets.. 100 weight is really thin/lightweight fleece. It's thicker than say a t-shirt, thinner than a quality sweatshirt, hoodie type pullover. it's basically something you'd wear on a cool summer night.. You'd be freezing in this in the winter unless it was an inner layer.

thanks for the useful info. know how well these hold up to washing/drying and general "beading" of lint balls?

I can't speak for this particular jacket, but my other TNF fleeces have never done this. Most better quality fleeces won't do this, especially microfleece. BTW, the official name for this is 'pilling'

DD's has a thicker NF jackets that pills where the sleeve rubs the bottom of her jacket. I simply shave off w/a sweater shaver every now & again..

For TNF these are lower end jackets so you're basically paying for the logo. This is not a thread cap, I have a closet full of TNF gear. So far it hasn't faded or developed the pilling, like my cheap Gap one did almost immediately after use & washing...

But don't think it's a top tier high quality jacket like the summit series.. These 100 weights are quite thin & are their lower end jackets. The Denali, Apex Android or Momentum is much more useful (I have all of them) in semi cold weather (say 60s)... They cost more, but you'd get more utility so worth it. These unless you had say a wifebeater, shirt over it, maybe a long sleeve shirt, then this.. Or something over it. I'd be pretty cold at 60 degrees.
