A few questions about an Ipod touch AND the Verizon Jetpak
I recently bought an Ipad 3 and I love it except for one little thing. After putting an Otterbox on it the thing is just to large to easily transport with me on the go. That was my orginal plan. Being so I'm thinking about also getting an Ipod Touch. BUT have some questions first: Will an ipod do everything I can do with my ipad but it's basically just a smaller version? You see I don't need a cell phone. I just don't make calls on the go like most people in America (or the world for that matter LOL) Next will I be able to use the same aps I have on my ipad on the ipod? And can I cloud between the 2 devices? For example I want to get the Apple numbers ap. Can I use that on either my Ipad or my Ipod? And will all the info I have already in the ap show up on either device? Next I want to be able to get online ANYWHERE with my ipad or ipod. None of this Wifi ONLY shit. I have some shopping aps that require me to be able to be online when I do them. When I took my ipad to the mall and got on the malls wifi system I could be ok at one store and walk into Old Navy and American Eagle and I would get a popup message saying my service was shaky or some message like that. So I'm thinking about getting a Verizon jet pak. Will that get either my Wifi Ipad or ipod online anywhere? And will it keep me online? And will I be able to surf without going as slow as Molasses?? Reason I ask is because I tried out my daughter iphone once and went online and she was with a service that was nice and cheap but her internet sucked royally. I said there is NO way I could deal with that. I talked to her wireless carrier and they said you have to go with one of the BIG dogs to get the proper working internet service. BUT before I fork out $50 a month AND sign a 2 year contract I'm wondering if anyone here has a jet pack with Verizon and wondering how it works for you. Basically what I hope for with the ipod is that it will do everything my ipad does but I will use it when I'm on the go! I have no ideal how I'm going to get used to it's small size but it's better than lugging my ipad with me. I want to be able to stick the jet pack and ipod in my purse. I can't do that with my ipad. I guess I will just need to use a stylish with the ipod? So I want my ipod to replace my old palm but be even better. I would appreciate any help! Geesh Apple has sure suckered me in now. BUT I will NOT break down and pay $100+ a month for a Iphone when I rarley use a cell phone and if i do need one I can borrow one from a friend.

Are the coming out with a mini ipad? I would like to stick with an Apple device since I can cloud between them. (unless I can cloud my Ipad to an Android??) I was just thinking I could put the Verizon jetpack in the bottom of my purse and leave it there unless it's being charged. And then the ipod I could stick in the side pocket of my purse. What do you think? |

if the ipad is too bulky because of the otterbox, then just dont use a case for it. I would just trade it for a 4g ipad and be done with it (assuming you can get a data plan only for ipad). |

The verizon Jetpack is LTE so assuming you have LTE service in your area it will be very fast. Your daughters iphone is not LTE so its slower (Although on verizon 3G should still be decent, if she has a different carrier this could be the problem).
Now if the ipad is too big because of the case, take it off, get a different one or none. If the size is too big without the case then you might look at a different device or see if the ipad mini comes out as rumored. The hotspot devices are not cheap, especially with the contracts. Seems like a really expensive way to do this. I agree upgrading to an LTE ipad might be best. Know that these hotspot devices don't last that long on battery when on. Most I have seen last a few hours at best when turned on. Not all apps work on the smaller deivces than ipad. Some apps are tablet specific or tablet optimized. Going from a 10" to a 3.5" is a pretty big difference. Maybe the new larger screen LTE iphone might be a good fit? When you say Cloud between devices what are you looking to keep in sync? Your terms here are not standard and need some interpretation. Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .
