Walgreens 8/26 - 9/1 Deals

My first F&F at Walgreens and I had my coupons for discount with all my others and not 1 discount! When I finally noticed he wasn't giving me the discount and said something, he called his sm over and he calculated 15% of my total after q's and put it in for the 1 trans. Urrr.. I will be going back in the morning! Disaster..

The Advil deal was a pain.

This was what I did the first time:
2 Advil congestion relief 10 ct - $5x2
Robitussin multi-symptom cold 4 oz - $5
less Advil congestion relief IP MQ $2x2
less Robitussin bottle MQ $1 (RP 8/26, bar code ending in 014763)

Scanning the Robitussin MQ kicked one Advil MQ off. The xxx014763 MQ also includes Advil Congestion products so it seems that this MQ preferentially attached to the Advil product kicking off one of my Advil MQs.

What makes Walgreens transactions painful is that you can't just cancel a Q so that you can use another Q (I wanted to just take off the Robitussin Q so I can use two Advil Qs). The cashier had to void the entire transaction (and for this, she had to call in a manager). Is this the way it is with the new registers? I remember that with the old registers, the cashiers can cancel/remove applied Qs by themselves without needing manager assistance.

I just told the cashier to cancel everything and left the store because the cashier had already done a void/cancellation for me before. The first void was because she automatically applied the 15% off Family and Friends discount. I saw it on the screen (what do you call that thing where you slide your credit card?) and told her I don't want the 15% off because my balance is going to fall below $10. The only reason I'm doing the Advil deal is to get rid of my $10RR (Renew superkrill) that was expiring this week. The cashier couldn't just take off the 15%. She needed manager assistance. What is with this new registers that cashiers are now so dependent on manager intervention?

The third time I tried the transaction, I got the same 3 products as above but used only the 2 Advil Congestion relief IP MQs ($2x2) = $11 - 10RR = $1 + tax.

The RR did not print. The cashier who rang up my purchases was the asst manager. As with Foladar, the AM said the RR didn't print because I used coupons and insisted that that is how it works. How many times do I have to come across employees lacking in knowledge? I told the guy, "I've been buying from Walgreens for a long time using Qs and the RRs print out. You can call other managers if you want." The AM gave me a gift card BUT, when I looked at the second receipt he gave me, it had "Return item" on it. He didn't write anything on my first receipt. I have two questions about this:

1. I seem to remember that in the "olden" days, managers were able to manually issue RRs. I don't remember if the manually-issued RR bears the words "Register Rewards" on them but I'm certain that they're not Returns. With the new registers, how are managers supposed to manually issue RRs?
2. The $5 GC I received was supposed to be for the 5RR but technically/officially it was for a returned item. Does this mean that my original receipt cannot be used for the Pfizer rebate (that requires 3 purchased products)?

can you recall if its the old registeror the new one? In an earlier post, the f& f q has to be scanned first before products, but with the new ones the order does not matter

It was the new ones. I think he didn't like the fact I was doing 6 trans.

I can confirm this as well. The IVC also worked on the Thousand Island Dressing. So perhaps it works on all 16oz dressings?

I was also in the region where the dressings rang up at 4.xx earlier this week. However, today they were ringing up properly at 2/4.

I also found Chapstick Naturals tagged at 99 cents (also tagged as plus CRV ) Combined with the 1/2 IP, it was a solid filler.

Did the F&F yesterday Got some wal dram, Help products, visine, altoids (yum 34c filler) and uni ball pens for 84c, I did miss out on the odwalla juice deal, after F&F and 55c MQ and Monthly 1/1, sale price this wk is 2.50 so after all discounts its 58cents

Advil Congestion Relief isn't working for RR (even though it's listed in the ad). That's why your RR didn't print.

i had various issues yesterday. the gillette + mach 3 coupons beeped like noted a few posts above. the cashier/manager noted that it must be due to the b1g1 + money off... since i figured i grabbed the wrong combo of coupons for walgreens in this case i just removed the mach 3 and got a nice enough deal on the fancy olympic razor. maybe later this week i'll try just those two items.

both that store and my close to home store had issues with the visine b1g1. it seems it didn't want to give me both coupons since it was a b1g1. is anyone else seeing that? hopefully the new registers are not preventing b1g1 and 2 coupons (which is contrary to their own coupon policy). both times the coupon got pushed through but i'm hoping it was just that particular coupon.

the cashier was rather p.o.'d... he entered my MQ's but had forgotten that i had shown the september book for the mentos gum. so when he went to enter it it was too late. apparently IVCs have to go before MQ in the new registers? the only way around it is to redo the transaction? pretty lame if that is the case. anyway i like free gum. my only option bubblegum/ sweet mint 14ct packs. 49c. i've been getting them in groups of 4. they just go to 0 on the receipt.

All transactions I did were on new registers.
No problems with $4 Fusion coupon and Free Mach 3 coupon used together.
No issues with using two Visine coupons combined with B1G1 sale. Purchased as many as 8 at a time.
On the new registers, once the cashier hits the payment key to enter something manually, they can't go back. It basically locks them out. In this instance, there was nothing that could be done to include your IVC except start over. If your coupons would have scanned properly, you could still have scanned the IVC last.

I had the EXACT thing happen to me too! I had the same razors & Q's except i used a filler for a RR I had and it just WOULD not take! They tried the q's in every order possible, tried to manually punch in the RR and everything. Finally she manually punched in the price of the free Mach 3 razor & it went through but talk about a hassle!

My results between 2 stores were a little inconsistent.
Used the Q at one store on purchases of two Mach 3s and one Mach 3Turbo. Didn't recall have any issues on any of those trans. I noticed on each of the receipts, the free Mach 3 was the first MQ scanned.
At another store, it seemed to auto the Mach 3 Q initially, but the scanner wouldn't scan the $10RR. When she keyed the UPC of the RR, the register kicked out the Mach 3 Q. After a couple of voids, the cashier did a little experimenting and came to the conclusion that the Q didn't work on the Turbo version, only on the plain Mach 3. I notice on these receipts, the free Mach 3 Q was the last line item prior to the RR.
Difficult to really know what all of the issues were.
