Thread Details

I'm so sorry!!!!

I apologize profusely to everyone who read my original post. Based on someone else's slickdeal post from July 7th I thought Costco was selling the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro NV356E model but in actuality they are selling the Shark Navigator Professional Upright UV420 model, as some of you have noted in your replies on this thread.

When reading the replies to this thread, keep in mind that the first 21 were made before I had a chance to correct the model number.

The terms of the deal are the same as what I originally stated: $149.99 regular price minus $30 instant coupon = $119.99 final price. And if you're an Executive Club member then you'll also receive 2% back ($2.40) in your annual rebate.

The UV420 is not listed on the SharkClean.com website so I am unable provide a link to the manufacturer description/specifications. But this model appears to be purchasable at Amazon.com thru a 3rd party seller. The model must be very new because it has no feedback comments yet.

Here are the marketing blurbs listed on the outside of the box:

* 5 star consumer rated
* anti-allergen complete seal technology
* swivel steering (lightweight and maneuverable)
* extra long reach
* 3X capacity of the leading no loss of suction vac
* includes premium pet tools (pet hair power brush + 24 inch crevice tool)
* zero maintenance costs
* 5 year limited warranty

MY ORIGINAL INACCURATE POST FROM 8/12/12:

Yesterday I received a new Costco coupon book in the mail. There is a $30 coupon for a Shark Navigator Professional Bagless Vacuum (Item # 590552). The coupon is valid between 8/16/12 and 9/9/12 and has a limit of 5.

According to this slickdeals post, the Costo warehouse price is $149.99. The $30 coupon will bring the price down to $119.99. The item is not listed at costco.com so this is a warehouse only offer.

The manufacturer's website lists the price at $269.75. The Amazon.com price is $199.99. A Slickdeals price search shows the lowest price of NV356 model to be $188.99 at Sears. The regular price at Costco is $149.99 and beats everyone else's price. Factoring in the $30 Costco coupon you'll save $69 off of the Sears price.

And if you're an Executive Club member then you'll also receive 2% back ($2.40) in your annual rebate.

This model has received very good reviews. 242 out of 277 (87%) rate this product at 4 stars or 5 stars at Amazon.com.

Here's the link to product info at the Shark website:

So you divorced your Sears model because it sucked??

Seriously, this seems like a good deal and I will probably check it out at the local Costco next week

I want something that is pretty lightweight but still does a good job. I have a mix of carpeting and tile floors but will be getting rid of some old carpeting and replacing with wood & tile, so "carpet beating" isn't a big deal for me. Is this a good model for that? Also maybe not too loud so it doesn't annoy the cat.

I bought the Shark Navigator pro at Costco (in store) a few months ago. Was in a pinch and couldn't wait for a deal! It doesn't have the hard floor attachment and it's not a lift away, so perhaps this is a different model - if these features are important to you, you may want to double check before buying. Mine has an option to turn off the brush roller when you're on hard surface so it won't scatter debris which is the main reason I bought it. The brush roll "off" option is nice if you are trying to vacuum sand or cat litter or you just don't want a brush rolling over your wood floor day after day and possibly causing wear over time. Overall it's a good unit. Great on carpet (but if you have a small loose strand, it will grab it and start to unravel - so be careful!), good on hard surfaces with the brush roll off, the small vacuum head is nice because you can get in smaller areas, but you have to make more passes in larger areas. Nice on board attachments, the unit I have has a long hose-possibly because it's not a lift-away, the dust canister is easy to remove and empty, and it has a separate pet hair attachment. I'm amazed at the amount of dog hair it collects every vacuum, especially since I vacuum a lot (main areas daily). My only complaint is that it's a bit top heavy and heavy overall, I wouldn't want to drag it up and down stairs. Kind of a lengthy post, but hope it helps someone!

Being able to separate it into a hand held vacuum is super! (The navigator lift away models have this feature) I get to do my staircase without feeling like I have a tank following behind me and worrying about tripping over it. And up to the point of my purchase of the Navigator I would have defended my Sears canister to the death. But, alas, my Sears model lacks suction and portability compared to this shark product! Permanent divorce with no chance of reconciliation - ever! Big Grin

Here is Shark's website that might help some of you:

BTW - I paid $90 on e**bay for my refurbished one and have not had a problem with it.

Actually, here is a better website showing the varying models:

Costco usually doesn't adjust pricing for this kind of item. I've noticed price fluctuations (up and down) for things like aluminum foil and laundry detergent but even for those kinds of items its uncommon.

I think you can safely assume the price will be $149.99 minus the $30 discount. I'll let you know on Thursday evening after the discount has taken effect and I have returned home with a brand new vacuum cleaner. Smilie

I purchased this yesterday with a return/rebuy mindset. It is definitely NOT the same model that the OP quotes, and is missing a few things:

It's model UV420. [Stolen from an Amazon review]:

And to complicate matters, Costco now has the Shark Navigator Pro in another configuration. It's model UV420, and comes with two wands, pet hair power brush, two cleaning attachments (brush and short crevice) and 16" crevice tool. It swivels, but is not a lift-away. The hose is longer than the NV356E at BB&B, and I picked this one because a longer hose and ease of use (i.e. less attachments and crazy capabilities that I'll never use) are important to me. It was $149.99 and worth every penny. I vacuumed this morning with my old crappy vacuum -- just revacuumed, and I'm amazed at the quantity of stuff this machine picked up. Suction is ridiculous, and it works fantastically on pergo, tile, and hardwood.
While I would have preferred a lift-away model because of my stairs, I can say this vacuum KILLS our Bissell Cleanview Deluxe in performance, weight, and ease of use. Tomorrow I should have no problem getting a refund of $30.

zOner is correct. It is not a lift-away. We just looked at the display in Seattle, but didn't think to buy it today and return it tomorrow and buy it again. We can wait until tomorrow. It is marked model UV420. It is strikingly similar to the Home Depot model NV80, which they have for $200.

The only problem with waiting tomorrow is that your store may go out of stock.

Thanks for the heads up about the model and NON lift-away. Makes it a warm deal for me.

As for the item going out of stock, i would not be too concerned judging by the activity
