Cisco site has refurbished DPC3008 for $38 shipped. This is DOCSIS 3. Apparently, comcast had a firmware issue with this model, but was fixed with May 12 release. I have been using it for a week now and not a single dropped connection.

Please use coupon code HSDISH5 to see 5% discount.

You can also use code HSDISH5 for another 5% ($2) off

in stock but for 50$ I would consider this still as a deal cause the one I got seems pristine

Darn. And I just bought the 6121 Surfboard for $75. Perhaps this is just as good...

Hmm, some pretty poor reviews on Amazon. Maybe I won't pull the trigger.

It has bad reviews because comcast had firmware issue (Jan release); which was fixed in May. Anyway, Cisco has 90 days return. So worth trying!

Good to know, thanks! I have the Surfboard 2.0 right now and it can't keep a connection whatsoever, so hopefully this is better.

Comcast is doubling speeds pretty soon. Docsis 2.0 maxes out at 30 megabits and docsis 3.0 tops out around 320 Megabits per second.

Just saw it only works for Comcast. I use charter so no go for me.

It's good price. I've been looking for a modem but couldn't find an inexpensive Docsis-3 one. This morning I finally purchased a used-like new SBG6580 for $83 from Amazon warehouse.

If your having signal issues I doubt changing the modem will do anything.

You would have better luck sticking an amplifier where the cable line runs into your home if it's a weak signal issue. That or monkey around with your cable splitters so the line going to your cable modem gets the strongest available signal.

Good price for a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. I have a 2.0 modem on Comcast and can pull 30/5Mbps. Practically, unless you are getting the 50Mbps package, the difference is only if you are in a noisy neighbourhood or have too many people riding the same downstream channels. 2.0 can only use a single channel vs 3.0 can do multi-bonding / load-balancing on channels.

In short, I skipped this deal Stick Out Tongue

This will be a nice upgrade for a friend of mine still stuck on Comcast, thanks OP! Monthly modem rentals are nonsense.
