Thread Details

Today I received a letter in the mail explaining that since i currently subscribe to a premium channel Comcast will allow me to choose an additional free movie channel free for 24 months. I asked if this lengthened my contract or if there were any other catches, the rep explained No, This is a customer loyalty incentive program. Keep in mind that this offer is for existing customers who currently subscribe to atleast one premium channel.

All you have to do is call :1-855-618-8700 Press 1 to add new service.

When the rep answers they will ask if your are calling because of the deal. Good Luck!

If this works for you please post.

Comcast has me trained to be disloyal. They give me $20 a month internet as long as I drop them every year...so I do. AT&T does the same thing. Until they treat their long-time customers better than the new ones, why bother to overpay?

I wonder, do you have to be paying for the premium channel that have a subscription to?

I have 6 mo free HBO but would love 24 mo free SHO!

If your already paying for one premium channel why not get an extra one for free?

Worked! Lady answered the phone and first thing she said was I calling to take advantage of the "loyalty program". Key was you need to keep paying for the one premium channel to keep the offer. So no canceling HBO in 6 months amd keeping Showtime (for example) for free.

Thanks OP!

So perhaps this is not YMMV, I am still unsure if there is a regional demographic...

Couldn't agree more. The only difference is that I threaten to quit and keep on calling until they give me a deal. I have gotten to the point that one time rep told me that you haven't paid full prices ever. But I do hate playing games and I am sure, they feel the same. After all feeling is mutual.

Exactly as you said. After selecting 1 in the menu, I got the rep asking me if I'm calling about the loyalty special. But this was weird: she couldn't find my account by using my name and/or address (I know it is correct). I offered to give her the account number but she said she didn't need it. Never found my account though and refused the acct number. It was really odd. Said she believed me anyway (that we already paid for hbo) and then asked me to verify the last four digits of my social. This gave me pause. But the chatter in the background actually did sound like Comcast so I gave her the last digits. She read the terms and said I've got Showtime for 24 months. I really hope it was legit and I didn't just give away info to a scam. Oy.

Can you post a pic of the letter?

I called the number and spoke to 2 reps. The first one had no idea what I was talking about and transferred me to someone else. I asked for the "loyalty program" and he told me I can have 6 month of one of the premium channels. I choose HBO. Better than nothing! Thanks OP.

Damn, I guess the foreign language channel that I'm paying $10.95/mo for doesn't count as a premium channel. Only HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc.

I was offered the deal as soon as the rep picked up (press 1 to "add service"), but that's before they discovered that I didn't have one of the above.

call and ask to be transferred to retention. I've been doing this for years now at both my place and my parents place. They always give me a combination of the promotions they currently have, with no contract to boot without having to fight for anything.
