This is a very nice price for a good non-subsidized phone. You cannot compare it to an on-contract phone (i.e. SG3 for $249) - that's apples and oranges. The Blaze has been this price via T-Mobile online (did have a $50 prepay card which made it attractive) - I like the bigger screen of the SG2.

I just signed up for the T-Mobile Value Plan (3 phones), and in the process purchased 3 phones from various sources (Exhibit 2 from the HSN deal on here, like-new Sensation via Craigslist, Amaze via Costco). I'm paying $80/month to share 1,000 minutes (T-Mobile's WiFi calling comes in handy), unlimited texting, and 2GB data per phone at high speed. The $30/month prepay plan would allso be very attractive (which I used for one month on one of the phones).

Not everywhere. In some markets, AT&T has transferred 1900 MHz to T-Mobile. But to my knowledge, no public list of such markets exists.

I was looking for a used Galaxy S2 for T-Mobile $30 prepaid on CG & Ebay for the past week...to pull or not to pull.

i'm looking to buy S3 without contract from Tmobile but they dont have it online.

Would have liked to get the device alone and use my own sim plan. Maybe I'll sucker up and pay the 30 bucks for the first month then just use my sim.

Right. SF Bay area is the one location I'm aware of as well. There are other markets too where the transfer has occurred/will be occurring.

If you're already on the $30 Unlimited data/text/100 min plan, the only way to get this would be to port your number away, and then activate inside Walmart?

Yes, you can upgrade to JB. I just had to get this phone after my S1 screen broke...I like it, but hate that my carrier is the only one NOT upgrading to JB for S2. Plus, they don't have the S3 as of yet!

No 3.5G or 4G, you get 3G if you know how to edit the APN settings.
