What is the walmart price protection policy? I still cannot justify paying $300 for almost 2 year old out-dated phone. I am guessing the price on this will drop very soon, I know we can return the phone (although I am not sure if walmart is charging restocking fee on phones) but it would be very nice if they had price protection like 90 days or something.
Any ideas? Otherwise I rather pay $520 and get S3 unlocked from Buy.com or $550 from T-Mobile. |

Thanks for this thread and I have read most of it. But, I am still confused, are the specs for either the $299 Family Mobile or the $329 TMobile phone with $30 card the same as the specs for the official t989 from TMobile or are we getting a stripped down version with less memory and less internal storage from Walmart?
Thanks. Gary |

What to do with the $30 gift card? I sold mine on Ebay for less than the face value - (I think $25) and e-mailed the code. For TMO value plan customers that prefer Android, the SGS II or Nexus 4 (direct from Google Play) are the best choices to reduce cost. The Nexus doesn't support Wi-fi calling, the T-Mobile branded SGS II does support wi-fi calling. |

Free unlock?
Thinking about picking up this phone from Walmart and maybe bringing it with me on my European trip next month.Has anybody tried to unlock this phone successfully using the method described here by "f_v_man"? http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=2024514 |

Walmart is offering a free Bonus Starter Kit included in the price of 329.99. Helps offset a little of the prepaid card cost.

This phone should really be much cheaper now, like $200 is the fair price for this phone, and honestly GS3 should go down to $400-$450.
I got Galaxy Exhibit 4G for $130 from HSN, and it has the same screen resolution as GS2 only smaller, so you get a much sharper image, the screen resolution of GS2 is really bad because the screen is so large. |
